“House” can mean four different things in Hello Kitty Island Adventure: the Player Home added in the October 8, 2026 Welcome Home update, your claimed player cabin, a visitor cabin that houses a character, or the furniture design saved inside a cabin. The correct action depends on which one you mean.
If you mean your personal cabin, the documented method is to open its outdoor sign—or the room plaque inside an upgraded cabin—choose Move Out, and then claim another repaired cabin. If you mean the new Player Home, current official material confirms customization and upgrades but does not document a relocation control. Cabin swaps and Layouts or Kits are separate systems and should not be treated as a way to move the Player Home itself.

Choose the meaning of “house” first
The game’s home systems overlap in everyday conversation, but they do not use the same controls. Use this table to identify the change you want before interacting with a sign, plaque, or decoration menu.

| What you want to change | What actually moves | Where the control is accessed | Main limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Move your personal cabin | Your ownership of a claimed player cabin | Outdoor sign for an un-upgraded cabin; interior room plaque for an upgraded cabin | You need another repaired cabin to claim; the current cabin is relinquished through Move Out |
| Move a visitor or resident | Cabin contents and, where allowed, the resident assigned to a cabin | Outdoor sign for a non-upgraded cabin; interior room plaque for an upgraded cabin | More than one repaired visitor cabin is required; some permanent residents must stay in their required region |
| Copy or transfer a cabin design | A saved cabin layout or kit, including its design arrangement | The game’s Layouts and Kits features | This is a cabin-design transfer, not a documented relocation of the Player Home |
| Relocate the new Player Home | The location of the Player Home | No specific relocation control is described in the official material currently available | Do not assume that cabin Move Out, a cabin swap, or a Kit changes the Player Home’s location |
The distinction matters because a successful cabin move does not prove that the Player Home can be moved. The Player Home and the older player-cabin system were introduced or documented at different times and have different terminology.

What the new Player Home can—and cannot yet be confirmed to do
Sunblink’s “Welcome Home is Here!” announcement, dated October 8, 2026, introduced the Player Home as a new feature that players can customize and upgrade. The same announcement added Character Homes and expanded cabin floorplans. The Apple App Store version history identifies these additions as version 3.0.0 and also describes Pocket Rooms as new spaces that can be added to a Home or Cabins.
Those notes establish that the Player Home is a real, separate home feature with customization and upgrade options. They do not specify a “move house” button, a map relocation menu, a mailbox action, a quest gate, a price, or a particular platform-specific sequence for changing its location. None of those details should be inferred from the cabin system.
If your goal is to improve the Player Home
Use the Player Home’s own customization and upgrade features as presented in your current game build. The available official descriptions confirm the feature’s existence, but they do not publish the exact button-by-button decoration path. Because labels and controls can change with updates, an instruction that names a particular icon or controller button without a verified current reference would be guesswork.

If you are looking for a cabin-style move option
Check that you are interacting with a cabin sign or room plaque, not a Player Home object. The documented Move Out command applies to a claimed player cabin. It is not a confirmed command for the new Player Home.
How to move your personal player cabin
This is the documented route when you have claimed one repaired visitor cabin as your own and want to make a different repaired cabin your residence.

Prerequisites
- The destination must be a repaired visitor cabin that is available to claim.
- The player-cabin reference says you can claim a repaired visitor cabin after completing the Make Yourself At Home quest.
- If another visitor currently occupies the cabin you claim, that visitor is forced to move out when you take ownership.
The game distinguishes an un-upgraded cabin from an upgraded one for purposes of where its interaction control appears. The command itself is still the cabin ownership action, not a Player Home relocation feature.
Step-by-step procedure
- Find the cabin you currently own. Go to the claimed cabin that you want to leave. Do not begin at the destination if you have not yet released your current cabin.
- Open the cabin interaction. For an un-upgraded cabin, interact with the outdoor sign. For an upgraded cabin, enter the cabin and interact with the room plaque inside.
- Select Move Out. Confirm the command if the game asks you to do so. This relinquishes your player-cabin claim; it is not a command to pick up and carry the building.
- Go to the other repaired cabin. The destination must be repaired and eligible to become your personal cabin. An unrepaired structure cannot substitute for the required destination.
- Claim the destination cabin. Use that cabin’s available interaction to take ownership. If a visitor is occupying it, the documented rule says the visitor is moved out when you claim the cabin.
The key order is release first, claim second. The available reference documents the two actions but does not state that your old cabin’s furniture is automatically reproduced in the new location. If preserving a design is important, use the separate Layouts and Kits system described below rather than assuming an automatic transfer.
What this procedure changes
- It changes which repaired cabin is your personal residence.
- It can displace a visitor from the cabin you claim.
- It does not establish that the new Player Home moves, changes location, or adopts the same ownership state.
- It does not remove the distinction between an upgraded cabin’s interior plaque and an un-upgraded cabin’s outdoor sign.
How to move a visitor or swap cabin contents
Visitor cabins use a different operation from player-cabin ownership. The cabin reference says that, once more than one visitor cabin has been repaired, you can swap cabin contents through the cabin’s interaction point.
Where to start the swap
- For a non-upgraded cabin, interact with the outdoor sign.
- For an upgraded cabin, enter the room and interact with the room plaque.
The result is a cabin-content swap. This is useful when a visitor’s furnished space belongs in another repaired cabin or when you want to reorganize which cabin contains which setup. It is not the same as selecting Move Out on your personal cabin.
Permanent-resident restrictions
The same reference says permanent residents can be moved by swapping cabins, but some residents must remain in their required region. Therefore, a swap can be valid for one resident and unavailable for another even when both cabins are repaired. If the game refuses a proposed destination, check whether that character has a regional requirement before treating the failure as a bug.
What must be repaired first
A single repaired cabin is not enough for a cabin-to-cabin swap. The documented rule requires more than one repaired visitor cabin. Repair the additional cabin before trying to exchange contents or assign a different cabin to a resident.

How Layouts and Kits preserve a cabin design
Sunblink’s October 8, 2026 update announcement states: “Layout and Kits let you share your cabin designs with other players or easily move them from cabin to cabin.” This is the supported solution when “change my house” really means “put the same furniture arrangement in another cabin.”
What a Layout or Kit is for
- It preserves a cabin design so the design can be reused.
- It supports sharing cabin designs with other players.
- It lets a saved design move from one cabin to another.
What it is not for
- It is not documented as a way to relocate the Player Home on the map.
- It does not replace the Move Out action when you are changing ownership of a personal cabin.
- It does not override regional rules that restrict where some permanent residents can live.
Think of the systems as two separate decisions: first decide which cabin is yours or which cabin houses a visitor; then decide whether a saved design should be applied to that cabin. The announcement confirms the transfer capability, but the material available here does not publish a universal button sequence for creating, selecting, or applying a Kit. Follow the labels shown by your current game version rather than relying on an older menu name.
Player Home, player cabin, visitor cabin, and Character Home compared
The following terms describe different pieces of the home system and explain why an instruction that works for one can fail for another.
| Term | Role | Relevant documented change | Do the cabin Move Out rules apply? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player Home | The newer home feature for the player | Introduced in the Welcome Home update on October 8, 2026; customizable and upgradeable | No specific application is documented |
| Player cabin | A repaired visitor cabin claimed as the player’s residence | Can be relinquished with Move Out and replaced by another repaired cabin | Yes |
| Visitor cabin | A repaired cabin furnished to attract or house a visitor | Contents can be swapped after more than one visitor cabin is repaired | No; use the visitor-cabin swap interaction |
| Character Home | A home category added alongside the Player Home | Introduced in the October 8, 2026 update | Not established by the cabin reference |
| Layout or Kit | A saved cabin design arrangement | Can be shared or moved between cabins | No; it is a design-transfer feature |
Use the right route for common situations
“I want my personal cabin somewhere else.”
Use the player-cabin route: interact with the current cabin’s outdoor sign or, if it is upgraded, its interior room plaque; choose Move Out; then claim another repaired cabin. This is the only documented personal-residence relocation flow in the available material.
“I want a visitor in a different cabin.”
Repair more than one visitor cabin, then use the relevant sign or room plaque to swap cabin contents. Check regional requirements if the visitor is a permanent resident.
“I want the same decorated room in another cabin.”
Use Layouts or Kits to transfer the saved cabin design. This changes the design applied to a cabin; it does not prove that the Player Home can be relocated.

“I want to move the new Player Home.”
There is no verified relocation procedure in the official material cited here. The update confirms customization and upgrades, not a location-change command. Avoid treating a cabin sign, plaque, Kit, or visitor swap as a substitute.
“I only want more interior space.”
The version 3.0.0 App Store notes describe Pocket Rooms as new spaces for a Home or Cabins. That addresses expansion of available rooms, not moving the building to a new map position.
Troubleshooting when the option is missing
No Move Out option appears
- Verify that you are interacting with your claimed player cabin rather than the Player Home or a visitor cabin.
- If the cabin is upgraded, look for the room plaque inside instead of the outdoor sign.
- If it is not upgraded, use the outdoor sign.
- Check that the cabin is actually the one you claimed as your personal residence.
The destination cannot be claimed
- Confirm that the destination cabin has been repaired.
- Check whether you have completed the Make Yourself At Home quest required by the player-cabin reference.
- If a visitor occupies the cabin, remember that the documented rule says claiming it forces that visitor to move out; this is different from a cabin that is not yet eligible to claim.
A visitor will not move to the cabin you selected
- Ensure that more than one visitor cabin has been repaired before attempting a swap.
- Use the outdoor sign for a non-upgraded cabin or the interior room plaque for an upgraded one.
- Check regional restrictions for permanent residents. Some must remain in their required region.
A design did not move with your cabin
Ownership transfer and design transfer are separate concepts. The documented player-cabin procedure tells you how to release and claim a cabin; it does not say that every furnishing arrangement follows automatically. Use a Layout or Kit when you need a reusable cabin design, and follow the current in-game prompts for applying it.
You are searching for a Player Home relocation button
The absence of a documented control is significant here. The official update and version notes describe customization, upgrades, Character Homes, expanded floorplans, and Pocket Rooms, but they do not describe a Player Home relocation command. Do not invent a map marker, cost, quest requirement, or mailbox path to fill that gap.
Update and platform context
The Player Home information is tied to the Welcome Home update announced by Sunblink on October 8, 2026. The Apple App Store version history labels version 3.0.0 with the Player Home and Character Homes and mentions Pocket Rooms for Homes or Cabins. Because home systems are update-sensitive, menu wording may change in a later build; recheck the developer’s current update notes if a subsequent home-system update is released.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteNintendo’s official listing identifies Hello Kitty Island Adventure for Nintendo Switch and gives January 30, 2025 as the Switch release date. That listing is a digital game listing; it does not verify a physical edition or current retailer stock. The in-game cabin instructions above come from a community-maintained reference, so treat exact interaction labels as documented guidance and favor an official in-game or developer explanation if one becomes available.
Practical answer
For an older, claimed player cabin, interact with the outdoor sign—or the room plaque inside an upgraded cabin—select Move Out, and claim another repaired cabin. For visitors, repair more than one cabin and use the sign or plaque to swap cabin contents, while observing regional restrictions for some permanent residents. For a reusable decorated design, use Layouts or Kits. For the Player Home introduced in October 2026, customization and upgrades are confirmed, but a specific relocation control is not; do not treat cabin commands as a verified way to move it.
