If Among Us Story: On Guard crashes or will not launch, first check which build you are trying to run. The complete game has not been released: Innersloth has scheduled it for February 17, 2027. The only announced playable PC build was a time-limited LudoNarraCon demo that ran from October 8 through October 15, 2026. After that window, a missing or unavailable demo can look like a launch failure even when your computer is working normally.
There is no published, title-specific crash cause or verified fix from the official sources currently available. The useful checks are therefore to confirm the build and storefront, compare your computer with the official Steam requirements, record the exact failure, and use current Innersloth or storefront support information rather than assuming a generic fix applies.

Is Among Us Story: On Guard released yet?
No. Innersloth’s October 8, 2026 announcement schedules the full game for February 17, 2027. That means a report that the game “won’t launch” before that date may concern a demo, an unavailable listing, or an incorrectly identified build rather than a broken copy of the finished game.
The same announcement described a LudoNarraCon demo available from October 8 to October 15, 2026. If you are checking after October 15, the announced demo period has ended. A launcher that no longer offers the demo, a download that cannot be authenticated, or a shortcut pointing to a removed build is consistent with that schedule; it is not proof of a hardware crash.

The title-specific search wording “crashes,” “won’t launch,” and “demo won’t start” describes the problem readers are trying to solve. It does not establish that the game has a widespread, confirmed crash defect. No independent crash-rate study or named technical diagnosis has been published in the official material available for this title.
Step 1: Confirm exactly what you installed
Check whether it is the event demo
Open the storefront page or event library where you obtained the game and read the product name and availability notice. During the announced event, the product should have been identified as a demo rather than the unreleased full game. If the page now says the event has ended, there may be nothing to repair locally: the distribution window itself has closed.
Do not treat a desktop shortcut, an old installer, or a video showing gameplay as evidence that the full release is available. The official announcement’s February 2027 date is the controlling release information in the material currently published.

Use an official listing
For PC, compare your installation with the official Steam listing for Among Us Story: On Guard. Innersloth’s latest platform announcement lists Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, iOS, and PC. The earlier June reveal mentioned PC and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, but the October announcement is newer and should be used when the two descriptions differ.
A file obtained from a mirror, a repack, or a page that is not an official platform listing cannot be diagnosed from the published requirements. Remove uncertainty about the build before changing drivers, compatibility settings, or other system files.
Step 2: Compare your computer with the published requirements
The official Steam page publishes minimum and recommended specifications for Windows and macOS. Steam also states that a 64-bit processor and 64-bit operating system are required. These are storefront specifications, not independent performance tests, and the page marked the game as not yet available when checked on October 13, 2026. Innersloth or Steam could change them before the full release.

What each requirement means
- Operating system: Windows must be 64-bit Windows 10, while macOS must be version 12 or newer. A 32-bit Windows installation does not satisfy the stated requirement even if the processor is fast enough.
- Processor: The listed Windows baseline is an Intel i3-4330. macOS accepts either Apple Silicon or Intel hardware, but still requires macOS 12 or newer.
- Memory: Both operating systems list 4 GB of RAM for minimum and recommended configurations. This is a requirement figure, not a promise of a particular frame rate or load time.
- Graphics: Windows minimum graphics are Intel HD Graphics 4600, with Nvidia GTX 650 recommended. The macOS entries list Intel HD Graphics 4000 minimum and Nvidia GTX 750M recommended.
- Storage: The listing asks for 2 GB of available space. “Available” means free space at installation time; it does not mean the drive’s total capacity is 2 GB.
If your system misses an operating-system, architecture, graphics, or storage requirement, record that mismatch when seeking help. Do not describe the machine as meeting the requirements merely because the processor model appears similar.

Different symptoms point to different questions, but none has a confirmed On Guard-specific remedy in the official material. Use the symptom to gather precise information rather than to infer a cause.

Before contacting Innersloth or the relevant storefront, make a short record. This prevents support from having to guess whether you are reporting the demo, a preview build, or the later full release.

- Identify the build: Write down the exact product name shown in the library, whether it says demo, and the date you downloaded or last updated it.
- Identify the platform: State Windows PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, or iOS. The platform list is not interchangeable; a Windows requirement cannot be applied to a phone or console.
- Record software versions: Include the operating-system version, storefront client version if visible, and the game build number if the launcher displays one.
- Describe the action and result: Explain whether you selected Play, opened a shortcut, or launched from the storefront, then state exactly what appeared, disappeared, or remained on screen.
- Copy the error: Preserve capitalization, punctuation, and any numeric code. A screenshot can supplement the text, but do not replace the transcription.
- List the relevant hardware: For a PC or Mac, provide processor, RAM, graphics adapter, operating system, and free storage so the support team can compare them with the published table.
- Note timing: Include your time zone and the date of the attempt. A report made after the announced demo window may describe availability rather than a runtime crash.
The official sources reviewed do not publish a verified crash log location, a title-specific repair utility, or a guaranteed sequence such as reinstalling, changing compatibility mode, or replacing drivers. You may encounter generic PC troubleshooting advice elsewhere, but it should be presented as general experimentation, not as an established fix for this game.

Windows and macOS
Start with the Steam product page and the requirements table above. Confirm that the operating system is supported, that the architecture is 64-bit on Windows, and that at least 2 GB of space is free on the installation drive. If the system fails one of those checks, include the mismatch in your report instead of claiming the game is crashing on a supported configuration.
Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
Innersloth’s October announcement includes both Switch generations, but the Steam hardware table does not apply to them. A console launch problem should be reported with the console model, system software version, storefront region, whether the title is a demo or full release, and the exact on-screen message.

Android and iOS
Android and iOS are also in the latest platform list. The Windows and macOS processor, graphics, and storage figures do not establish mobile compatibility. For a phone or tablet, provide the device model, operating-system version, available storage, storefront, and whether the listing identifies a time-limited demo.
What not to assume
- “It is released, so my copy must be broken.” The full release is scheduled for February 2027, so a pre-release launch attempt needs to be identified first.
- “Every failed launch is a crash bug.” An ended event window, an unavailable listing, or an unsupported operating system can produce a similar experience without demonstrating a game defect.
- “The minimum figures guarantee smooth play.” Steam labels them requirements, not independent performance results.
- “A fix for another game applies here.” No official, tested On Guard-specific procedure is currently published.
- “The June platform list is still the latest.” Use the October announcement when checking platform availability because it is newer.
When to check again
Release information, the demo’s availability, platform support, system requirements, and support instructions can change before the scheduled launch. Recheck Innersloth’s latest announcement and the official storefront listing when you try again. If a new build is available, repeat the identification and requirements checks with that build rather than assuming an old demo’s behavior predicts the full game.
For now, the most accurate diagnosis is conditional: if you are trying to launch after the October 8–15 event, verify whether the demo is still offered; if you are expecting the complete game, wait for the scheduled release; and if an officially available build still fails on a system that meets its listed requirements, send support the exact platform, versions, error text, and build details.
