If you mean changing the in-game view, not moving the Roblox window on your desktop, use the controls for your device: swipe two fingers on a compatible laptop touchpad, tap and drag on a phone or tablet, or use the keyboard’s left and right arrow keys to rotate the default third-person camera horizontally.
Move the camera with a laptop touchpad
- Open the Roblox experience and place the pointer over the game view.
- Swipe with two fingers on the touchpad to pan the camera. Pinch to zoom.
Roblox documented these gestures for Windows laptops, but whether they work depends on the touchpad hardware and drivers. The guidance appeared in Roblox’s December 12, 2019 Windows trackpad announcement, so treat it as device-dependent rather than a control that works on every laptop.
Other ways to rotate the view

These inputs are listed in Roblox Creator Hub’s CameraMode documentation. The touchscreen gesture is for mobile; the arrow-key directions do not establish a way to freely reposition the camera.
If the camera controls do not work
- Open the in-experience menu and choose Settings. Check the available camera options. Roblox Support says Classic and Follow modes can be switched when the experience developer has not locked the camera mode.
- Open the in-game Help menu to check controls and mobile gestures for that experience.
- If you see Camera Toggle in the camera settings, you can check whether it suits your setup. Roblox introduced this as an option for laptop and desktop players, including users with older trackpads, but its February 26, 2020 announcement describes right-mouse-button input to enter and exit toggle mode. It is therefore not a guaranteed mouse-free solution.
Camera settings and available controls can vary by experience. Roblox’s In-experience Settings and Help guide also explains that Shift Lock Switch, when available, toggles a camera mode with the Shift key; it is not a general camera movement control.
