When can you nominate and vote?
Pocket Gamer announced the 2027 awards on October 9, 2026, describing them as the 13th edition. Its schedule is:

- Open the official 2027 awards hub. Use the hub to find the live nomination form and the current categories. The precise form interface and terms have not been stated in the announcement.
- Choose the category that best fits your nominee. Check the category description and the eligibility rules below, especially the release-date window and exceptions.
- Submit your nomination according to the live form. Follow its instructions and any stated requirements; do not rely on assumptions about how many nominations one person may make or what information a form requires.
Pocket Gamer’s prior-cycle explainer describes the overall process: readers nominate games, Pocket Gamer totals the nominations and publishes a shortlist, then fans and players vote on that shortlist. The 2027 announcement confirms the current schedule, but does not yet publish the live form or all its terms.

How to vote
- Wait for the nomination phase to end and the shortlist to be published. Voting comes after nominations; it is not a way to add a new game to the nomination pool.
- Return to the official awards hub when voting opens. Use the current voting form rather than instructions or links from a previous awards cycle.
- Review the shortlisted choices and cast your vote using the live form. The announcement does not specify whether repeat votes are allowed, so follow the published terms rather than guessing.
Voting runs through December 20, 2026. Pocket Gamer says winners are expected early in 2027.
Which games and categories are eligible?
Most new releases must fall within the 2027 window
For most 2027 awards, a new-release game must have launched between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026. Check that date range before nominating a newly released game. The 2027 rule is not the same as the preceding awards’ window.

For relevant update categories, Pocket Gamer says updates should fall within the eligibility period where possible. That is guidance about update timing, not a replacement release-date window for all categories.

Developer and publisher nominations consider a catalogue
For Best Indie Developer, Publisher, and Developer, Pocket Gamer asks nominators to consider the nominee’s catalogue while keeping recent releases in mind. These are not simply the same eligibility test as nominating one new-release game; use the current category description to decide what work or record is relevant.
What changed for the 2027 awards?
The 2027 edition has 22 categories. Pocket Gamer removed Mobile Innovation and added Best Mobile Indie Developer, Best Mobile Game Character, Best In-Game Collab, and Best Webshop. It also renamed or reworked update-related categories.

Use the current list on the official hub rather than a prior-year guide or saved form. The previous 12th awards used an October 1, 2024–September 30, 2025 new-release window, with some categories drawing on a back catalogue; those historical dates do not determine 2027 eligibility.

Pocket Gamer has not published a formal scoring rubric in its 2027 announcement. A practical way to make a considered choice is to check three things:

- Category fit: Does the game, character, update, collaboration, community, developer or publisher match what the category is asking for?
- Eligibility: If it is a new-release game, did it launch within October 1, 2025–September 30, 2026, or is the category one of the stated exceptions?
- Your reason: Choose based on your own experience and explain your reasoning if the live form provides a place to do so.

What the announcement does not yet specify
The October 9 announcement does not establish whether an individual may nominate or vote more than once, what personal data the forms collect, or whether participation is limited by location. Those details should be taken from the live form and its terms when available. Do not infer them from the dates or from a previous awards cycle.
