To open the Ancient Archives door in Fisch, collect the Ancient, Solar, Earth, and Deep Sea Fragments, place each in its matching pillar inside the cave behind the Ancient Isle waterfall, then rotate the pillars during an Eclipse. The latest Ancient Archives guide reports that one player can now complete the puzzle after Update 1.75.0, although its step-by-step directions still mention four players and pressure plates; follow the prompts shown in your game if they differ.
What you need before entering the Archives
Find all four fragments before attempting the lock:

- Ancient Fragment: A random fishing drop. The Ancient Isle guide recommends fishing in the Xiphactinus area.
- Solar Fragment: Atop the pond or mountain on Ancient Isle. You must collect it during an Eclipse.
- Earth Fragment: In a cave at the back of Ancient Isle, behind leaves. The Earth Fragment guide lists the location at X: 5961, Y: 297, Z: 850, and says you can collect another if you lose it.
- Deep Sea Fragment: Under the waterfall.
The Earth Fragment guide, updated June 8, 2026, gives the rear cave as its location. An older aside on the Ancient Isle guide says the fragment was unavailable during an earlier update; that legacy note does not establish that it is unavailable now.
How to reach the Ancient Archives door
- Travel to Ancient Isle and go behind the waterfall.
- Enter the cave and descend the rope into the puzzle chamber.
How to solve the fragment and pillar puzzle
- Place each fragment in its corresponding pillar or statue. The current guide confirms the four fragments but does not provide a dependable color-to-fragment mapping, so use the in-game labels or prompts rather than guessing.
- Wait for an Eclipse or trigger one with the Eclipse Totem. The Ancient Isle guide places the totem in a cave near the Earth Fragment location.
- During the Eclipse, rotate the pillars to face the front and complete the lock. The guides say the pillars cannot be rotated without an Eclipse.
Can you open the door solo?
The Ancient Archives page, updated September 25, 2026, says the puzzle became completable by one person after Update 1.75.0. However, its procedure still tells players to have four people stand on pressure plates. Because that page contradicts itself and the older four-player requirement predates the stated update, treat solo completion as the reported current rule—not a fully consistent, independently verified procedure. Follow the live prompts if your game asks for a group or handles the plates differently.
