The Commander’s Safe is in the Commander’s Room aboard the Incognito. The simplest way to open it is to find the Commander’s Safe Key on the floor in the Engine Room, then return and use it. A Mag-Pick is also reported to work, but guides disagree on the required skill name, so check the safe’s prompt in your game.
Where to find the Commander’s Safe
Go to the Commander’s Room aboard the Incognito. PCGamesN directs players through the first door on the left when leaving the cockpit, then to turn right toward the terminal and look left for the safe. Nintendo Smash also places it in the Commander’s Room, though its description of the floor differs; use the room rather than a floor number to navigate.

From the loading bay, head into the room and crouch near the large pipes or wires at the back. PCGamesN points to the large pipe on the right; Nintendo Smash describes crouching through the large wires.

Can you open it with a Mag-Pick instead?
Yes, guides report a Mag-Pick alternative, but they name different skill requirements: PCGamesN says four points in Hack, while Nintendo Smash says Level 4 Lockpick. Because those labels conflict, check the requirement shown on the safe in your game rather than relying on a guide’s skill name. If you do not meet the displayed requirement, use the key route.
What’s inside the Commander’s Safe?
Both guides list Eva Wierzicki’s Tossball Card, two Bypass Shunts, two Mag-Picks, and two Numb Rum. Their other reported contents differ: PCGamesN lists 313 Bit Cartridges, while Nintendo Smash lists 322 Bit Cartridges and also mentions an Ascendant Bourbon, Spectrum Vodka, and 3,000 XP. The guides do not agree on the full contents, so treat those disputed amounts and additions as unconfirmed for your game.
