To open the purple-sealed prison cells in Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong, defeat the hidden boss Captain Lotus-Vision. The seals are removed as soon as the fight ends; you do not need to defeat all four Captains. Find him by turning around at the Pagoda Realm’s Upper Pagoda shrine and dropping down through the nearby opening.
Find Captain Lotus-Vision at Upper Pagoda
- Continue through Chapter 3 until you reach the Pagoda Realm – Upper Pagoda shrine. It is farther along the prison route than Lower Pagoda.
- At the shrine, turn around and look for the opening or drop beside it. Descend to the hidden area below; Captain Lotus-Vision is inside a prison cell there.
- Defeat Captain Lotus-Vision. The purple locks come off immediately after the fight.
- Return to the purple-sealed cells you passed earlier and enter them.
If a cell remains sealed, check that you defeated Captain Lotus-Vision specifically. Defeating Captain Wise-Voice does not trigger this lock mechanic.

Do not confuse the seals with the Prisoner quest
The Prisoner is a separate objective in the same area. You can speak to him through a locked gate near the start of the Pagoda Realm. His quest asks you to collect four Captain Spirits and return them to him; the listed reward is Chubai Spearhead crafting material. That collection is not required to remove the purple seals.
