There is no single best RTX 5060 preset for every game or PC. For a useful performance gain without an unacceptable image-quality or responsiveness trade-off, tune one game at a time: establish a baseline at your usual resolution, adjust one demanding setting, and compare the same scene. Use DLSS options only when the game supports them, and judge generated frames separately from the game’s traditionally rendered frame rate.

Start with a baseline in the game you actually play

NVIDIA lists the desktop GeForce RTX 5060 with 8 GB of GDDR7, 3,840 CUDA cores and a 2.50 GHz boost clock. It supports DLSS 4 features, Resizable BAR, NVIDIA App and Game Ready Drivers. Those specifications describe the card, but they do not determine one ideal settings combination: the game, output resolution, CPU, display refresh rate and target frame rate all affect the right trade-off. NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 specifications

  1. Use the game’s resolution and graphics settings you normally play with, and choose a repeatable scene—such as the same save point, replay or built-in benchmark.
  2. Record the average and low frame rates if the game provides them. Also note visible stutter, image quality and how responsive controls feel.
  3. Check whether GPU load, CPU load, memory use or uneven frame pacing appears to be the main constraint, if those indicators are available. A graphics-quality reduction is most useful when the GPU is the limiting factor; it may do little if another part of the system is holding performance back.
  4. Keep the scene, resolution and other settings consistent for each comparison. Change one option at a time, retest, and keep the change only if its performance benefit is worth the image-quality cost.

There is no reliable universal order in which to lower graphics options: game engines handle settings differently. Test the demanding options available in your game individually rather than assuming one setting will always deliver the biggest gain.

Choose DLSS Super Resolution by comparing its modes

When a game offers DLSS Super Resolution, compare its available modes at your normal output resolution. Super Resolution reconstructs a higher-resolution image from a lower-resolution input. Its performance and image-quality results depend on the game and selected mode, so check fine details and motion in the scenes you play instead of choosing a mode from its name alone. • Powered by GeForce RTX 5060
  • Integrated with 8GB GDDR7 128bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0

  • Use the game’s own DLSS controls first; the available options vary by title.
  • Compare the same scene with each mode, watching for image artifacts as well as changes in frame rate.
  • Keep the mode that best balances clarity and performance on your display. A useful result at one resolution or in one game is not a guarantee for another.

Understand Frame Generation before enabling it

Frame Generation adds generated frames to the displayed output. A displayed frame rate that includes those generated frames is not the same as the game’s traditionally rendered frame rate. Treat Frame Generation as a smoothness option to evaluate in play, not as proof that the underlying game performance or responsiveness has improved by the same amount.

NVIDIA describes Reflex as the associated latency technology. Frame Generation is not a substitute for adequate base performance or a guarantee of lower input latency. Try it in the game and assess both motion smoothness and control response; whether the trade-off feels worthwhile depends on the title and your preferences. NVIDIA’s DLSS feature descriptions

Use NVIDIA App overrides only for supported games

Game support and settings vary. Where supported, NVIDIA documents DLSS overrides in NVIDIA App > Graphics > Program Settings. Its RTX 50 Series Multi Frame Generation override requires Frame Generation to be enabled in the game itself. Check the game’s options and the app’s available controls rather than expecting every title to expose the same features. NVIDIA’s NVIDIA App update notes

Read RTX 5060 benchmark examples in context

NVIDIA’s published RTX 5060-versus-RTX 4060 comparisons include 233 versus 121 FPS in DOOM: The Dark Ages and 234 versus 111 FPS in Hogwarts Legacy. These are NVIDIA’s results under its stated test conditions—not expected results for every RTX 5060 system. The comparisons use 1080p and maximum settings with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction, and Multi Frame Generation (4X) on RTX 50 Series where available. Keep the distinction between a vendor test and your own results in mind: your CPU, resolution, game settings and feature support may differ. Use a repeatable in-game test on your own system to decide which settings are worthwhile.

Retest after updates and tune for your display

Once you have a combination that works, evaluate it at the refresh rate and resolution you actually use. A setting that raises a displayed FPS counter may not feel better if controls become less responsive or image quality falls below your preference. Recheck the game’s options after game or driver updates, since feature support and available controls can change.

For a tailored preset, the key details are the game, output resolution, monitor refresh rate, CPU and desired frame-rate target. Without those, a per-game testing process is more dependable than prescribing one set of values for every RTX 5060 owner.
