There is no confirmed pairing procedure here for a “DualSense 2.0” and a PS6: the official PlayStation support pages reviewed on October 4, 2026, document DualSense pairing with PS5 and supported other devices, but not a controller by that name, PS6 instructions, or compatibility between the two. The steps below are verified PS5 instructions only; they are not a workaround confirmed for PS6.
Pair a DualSense controller with PS5 for the first time
PlayStation’s first-time PS5 procedure uses a USB cable. You do not need to buy one if you already have a suitable cable.
- Turn on the PS5.
- Connect the DualSense controller to the console with a USB cable.
- If the controller is off, press the PS button. The light bar blinks and the player indicator lights up.
- After the controller has sufficient battery charge, disconnect the cable to use it wirelessly.
These steps are PlayStation’s published instructions for PS5; they do not establish that the same process works with another console.
Pair an additional DualSense with PS5 wirelessly
PlayStation also documents a wireless route for adding another controller. Use an already-paired controller to navigate the PS5:

- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
- Make sure the additional controller’s player indicator is off. Disconnect its USB cable if one is attached.
- On PS5, open Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories.
- On the additional controller, hold the Create button and PS button together until it enters pairing mode.
- Select the controller from the Bluetooth Accessories list on the console.
Connect a DualSense to a supported device over Bluetooth
For a first Bluetooth pairing with a supported non-console device, PlayStation’s procedure is to put the controller in pairing mode and then select it in that device’s Bluetooth settings:
- Make sure the controller’s player indicator is off and disconnect any USB cable.
- Hold Create and PS together until the light bar blinks.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the device, open its Bluetooth list, and select the controller.
PlayStation lists support for Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11, macOS Big Sur 11.3 or later, iOS 14.5 or later, iPadOS 14.5 or later, tvOS 14.5 or later, and Android 12 or later. Feature availability varies by device: PlayStation notes that functions such as adaptive triggers, haptics, the microphone and speaker, and the headset jack may be limited on some platforms. Check the support information for your particular device rather than assuming every controller feature will work.

Use a controller’s saved pairings to switch devices
PlayStation says one controller can hold up to four registered pairings, each assigned a slot. Its instructions describe assigning a slot with an action-button and PS-button combination, then switching to a saved connection. This feature concerns registered pairings; it is not evidence of PS6 compatibility.

The official PlayStation pages reviewed on October 4, 2026, do not document a “DualSense 2.0,” provide PS6 pairing steps, or establish that such a controller works with PS6. That is a limit of the pages reviewed, not proof that PlayStation will never announce a product or compatibility information. Until official documentation covers the specific hardware, do not treat the PS5 procedure above as a confirmed PS6 method.
