You can play Clash Royale on a Windows PC using Google Play Games on PC, the official route documented by Supercell. Install Google Play Games, sign in, install Clash Royale, then use your Supercell ID to load your mobile progress. The PC release runs the Android version and supports mouse controls.
What you need to play Clash Royale on PC
Google Play Games on PC is the documented official method, and it is for Windows. Google’s current minimum requirements include:
- Windows 10 version 2004 or later
- An SSD with at least 10 GB of available storage
- 8 GB of RAM
- Intel UHD Graphics 630 or comparable graphics
- A CPU with four physical cores
- A Windows administrator account
- Hardware virtualization enabled
These are Google Play Games requirements, not a separate Clash Royale specification. Check Google’s current PC requirements and eligibility information before installing; supported countries and regions can also affect access. The installer checks whether your PC qualifies and reports if it does not.
Install Clash Royale through Google Play Games
- Download Google Play Games. On your Windows PC, visit play.google.com/googleplaygames, select Download, open the installer, and follow its prompts.
- Complete any setup prompts. Google Play Games may ask you to enable Windows Hypervisor Platform and restart the computer. CPU virtualization may also need to be enabled in BIOS or UEFI.
- Sign in to Google Play Games. Use a personal Google Account and confirm that Google Play Games is available in your country. The Google Account is for the PC app; it is separate from the Supercell ID used to access Clash Royale progress.
- Find and install the game. Search for Clash Royale in Google Play Games on PC and install its listing. The Windows app runs the Android version of the game.
- Load your account and play. Launch Clash Royale and sign in with the same Supercell ID you use on mobile to continue that account’s progress. Play using the mouse on your PC screen.
Supercell announced global PC availability on October 23, 2023. The game is free to play; in-game purchases are optional, as they are on mobile. Check the Clash Royale listing in Google Play Games for availability in your location.

How PC play differs from mobile

The same account cannot be used simultaneously on both devices: opening Clash Royale on one logs it out of the other. Switch devices by launching the game on the one you want to use.
Troubleshoot installation or access problems
- The installer says the PC is not eligible: compare your computer with Google’s current minimum requirements, including storage, memory, processor, graphics, and virtualization.
- Google Play Games asks for virtualization support: follow the installer’s prompt to enable Windows Hypervisor Platform or CPU virtualization, then restart if requested.
- Installation still fails: Google’s general guidance is to check the reported requirements, enable Windows Hypervisor Platform if prompted, uninstall and reinstall Google Play Games, and restart the PC. These are general platform steps, not a guaranteed fix for every Clash Royale issue.
- The game is unavailable: check Google’s live supported-country information and the Clash Royale listing for your location. Availability is not universal.
Can you play Clash Royale on Mac or Linux?
The documented Google Play Games PC route is Windows-only. The official sources establish this method for Windows, not an official Mac or Linux release. They also do not establish third-party emulators as officially supported, so this guide does not recommend them.
