The easiest way to play Clash Royale on a Windows PC is Google Play Games on PC, the game’s official Windows-supported route. It runs the Android version of Clash Royale with mouse controls, optimized graphics, and progress syncing across devices. BlueStacks 5 is a flexible alternative Android emulator, especially if you already use it for other mobile games.
Method 1: Google Play Games on PC
Google Play Games on PC is the recommended option because Supercell officially supports Clash Royale through it. This is not a separate native Windows version: the service runs the Android version of the game on Windows. You can confirm the listing on Clash Royale’s Google Play Games PC page.

Minimum requirements
- Windows 10 version 2004 or newer
- 10 GB of available space on an SSD, preferably the main drive
- 8 GB of RAM
- Four physical CPU cores
- Intel UHD Graphics 630 or a comparable GPU
- A Windows administrator account
- Hardware virtualization enabled
- A personal Google Account and a Play country supported by Google Play Games on PC

How to install Clash Royale
- Open play.google.com/googleplaygames on your Windows PC.
- Click Download.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the setup instructions.
- If Google Play Games asks you to enable Windows Hypervisor Platform, allow it and restart Windows when prompted.
- Open Google Play Games on PC, search for Clash Royale, and install it from the PC game listing.
- Launch the game from Google Play Games or its Windows shortcut.
Older guides may call this product Google Play Games (beta). Google’s current documentation and the Clash Royale listing use the name Google Play Games on PC.

Use your existing Clash Royale account
To continue the same progress on your phone and PC, sign in on both devices with the same account. Supercell recommends linking your game accounts to Supercell ID, particularly if you manage more than one account.
The old Google account button inside Clash Royale is no longer the current account-switching method. To change the Google account used for a game:

- Open the Google Play Games app.
- Click the three dots in the upper-right corner and choose Settings.
- Under Your data, choose Change account for games.
- Find Clash Royale and click Change.
- Select the account you want, sign out, or choose to be asked each time.

- Check every minimum requirement, including free SSD space and Windows version.
- Enable Windows Hypervisor Platform if the installer requests it, then restart.
- Make sure CPU virtualization is enabled in your computer’s BIOS or UEFI; many games require it.
- Uninstall Google Play Games through Windows Apps & features, reinstall it, and restart the PC.
Hypervisor Platform can prevent some other Android emulators from working. Google provides a separate procedure for turning it off after installation if you need to return to another emulator. Also note that Google says only the first Windows user who installed Google Play Games on PC can open it and play games.

If installation still fails, run the installer, click Send feedback, enable Send system information, enter #gpginstall in the message box, and click Send. Google documents the recovery and feedback steps in its installation guide.
Method 2: BlueStacks 5
BlueStacks 5 is an Android emulator rather than Clash Royale’s official Windows distribution. It is a practical alternative if you already use BlueStacks or want its emulator settings and broader Android-app support.

BlueStacks 5 requirements
The listed minimums are:
- Windows 7 or newer
- An Intel or AMD processor
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- 5 GB of free storage
- A Windows administrator account
- Current graphics drivers
BlueStacks recommends Windows 10 or newer, a multi-core Intel or AMD processor with a single-thread benchmark above 1000, a GPU benchmark of at least 750, 8 GB or more of RAM, an SSD, broadband internet, current graphics drivers, and virtualization enabled. Windows 7 and Windows 8 users are limited to BlueStacks versions 5.21.300 and below; newer BlueStacks features require Windows 10 or later. BlueStacks also warns that performance problems can occur when it runs alongside Microsoft Virtual PC, VMware Workstation, or Oracle VirtualBox. How to install Clash Royale in BlueStacks
- Install and launch BlueStacks 5.
- On the home screen, open System apps.
- Open the Play Store and sign in with a Google account.
- Search for Clash Royale.
- Click Install.
- When installation finishes, click the Clash Royale icon on the BlueStacks home screen.
You can also use the BlueStacks Store: open it, search for Clash Royale, select the game tile, and click Install. The installed game will then appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Since Clash Royale is available through Google Play, you do not need an APK.
BlueStacks supports APK and XAPK files through the side-toolbar Install APK button or by dragging a file onto the home screen, but downloading an APK is unnecessary for this game and adds an avoidable source of installation and account risk.

For most players starting from scratch, install Google Play Games on PC first. Use BlueStacks when Google Play Games is incompatible with your system or when BlueStacks already fits your Android-gaming setup.
