Google’s hidden Wimbledon tennis game was reported inside the Search results panel for “wimbledon scores.” The route below is from July 2019; Google’s current availability is unconfirmed, so the tennis-ball icon may no longer appear.
How to find the hidden Google tennis game
TechCrunch reported this route on July 11, 2019, when Google had tucked a tennis mini-game into certain Wimbledon Search results:
- Search Google for wimbledon scores.
- Look for the purple Wimbledon tournament panel and its row of event categories.
- Scroll that row to the end.
- Tap the small tennis-ball icon to open the game.
This was a game embedded in a Search results panel, not a standalone tennis app. The documented steps are historical, not confirmation that the panel or icon is still offered. TechCrunch’s July 2019 report is the source for the route.
How to play
The mini-game was described as a simple, Pong-like rally. Move your player into position to return the incoming ball. Each successful return scores a point; missing the ball ends the game.

If the game does not appear
The report said the game worked on mobile and desktop, and its author found desktop easier to play. That was the author’s preference, not a general performance finding. Whether the game appears today may depend on whether Google shows the Wimbledon panel and icon for your query, location, browser, or device; current behavior has not been confirmed.
- If the scores panel appears, scroll its category row all the way to the end and check for the tennis-ball icon.
- If the panel or icon is absent, the 2019 route may no longer be available to you. The historical instructions do not establish a current workaround.
Do not confuse it with Google’s tennis Doodle
Google’s archive lists a separate tennis-themed Doodle for the start of the 2015 US Open. It imagined the letters of the Google logo playing tennis; it is not the Wimbledon Search mini-game and does not show that the 2019 game remains accessible. Google’s 2015 US Open Doodle archive entry documents that separate item. Google’s Doodles library is a collection of Doodles, not confirmation of the Search game’s current status.
