You cannot use TLauncher as the proper official launcher for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. On Windows 10 or Windows 11, install the official Minecraft Launcher, sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the game, and select Minecraft for Windows. Keep TLauncher separate for Java Edition if you choose to use it, and avoid unofficial “Bedrock for TLauncher” downloads.
The short answer
You should not try to install official Minecraft: Bedrock Edition into TLauncher. On a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, the supported route is to install the official Minecraft Launcher, sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the game, and select Minecraft for Windows. That is the current launcher label for Bedrock Edition on Windows.

TLauncher can remain installed for Java Edition if you choose to use it, but selecting a version, adding a mod, or installing a Java mod loader in TLauncher does not turn that installation into the official Windows Bedrock client. TLauncher’s Windows documentation focuses on Java installation and Java-based loaders such as NeoForge, while Microsoft’s documented Bedrock installation path uses the official launcher.

How to play Bedrock Edition on a Windows PC
- Install the official Minecraft Launcher. Download it from Minecraft.net or install it through the Microsoft Store. The official download page describes the launcher as the PC hub for Minecraft games.
- Sign in with the correct Microsoft account. Use the account that owns Minecraft. The launcher uses Microsoft Login; if the account does not own the game, it will present a purchase or demo option rather than giving access to the full game. Make sure you are not signed into a different Microsoft account by mistake.
- Purchase or redeem the PC bundle if necessary. The official Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC purchase includes both editions for PC. On Windows, that account can access Java Edition and Bedrock Edition for Windows.
- Open the edition selector. In the official launcher, choose Minecraft for Windows. This is Bedrock Edition; it may not be displayed simply as “Bedrock” in the current launcher interface.
- Click Play and let the launcher install the files. The first launch may download game data and updates. Do not copy a Bedrock installation into TLauncher or use an unofficial “Bedrock TLauncher” installer.
- Sign in to Microsoft/Xbox services when prompted. This is particularly important for multiplayer, Realms, marketplace content, and cross-platform features.
What if TLauncher is already installed?
You do not necessarily need to uninstall TLauncher. Treat the two launchers as separate programs:
#1 Best Overall
- MODERNIZED DESIGN — Experience the modernized design of the XBOX Wireless Controller with sculpted surfaces and updated geometry that enhances comfort and control during long gaming sessions.
- PRECISION PERFORMANCE — Stay on target with a hybrid D-pad and textured grips on triggers, bumpers, and back case for improved accuracy and handling.
- SHARE BUTTON: Seamlessly capture and share content such as screenshots, recordings, and more with the new Share button.
- VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY — Connect via USB-C for plug-and-play on console and PC, or quickly pair and switch between supported devices with XBOX Wireless and Bluetooth support.
- BUILT-IN AUDIO SUPPORT — Plug in compatible headsets using the 3.5mm audio jack for direct voice chat and immersive in-game sound.
- Use the official Minecraft Launcher for Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock).
- Use TLauncher for Java Edition only if you independently choose to use that unofficial Java launcher.
Installing Java, changing the Java runtime, selecting a Minecraft version, or adding NeoForge or another Java-oriented loader addresses Java Edition—not the official Windows Bedrock client. TLauncher’s own Windows installation instructions require Java, and its NeoForge documentation describes a Java mod-loader workflow. Those instructions do not establish an official Bedrock installation method.
Why Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are different here
Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are separate editions with different clients, technical foundations, mod ecosystems, and multiplayer systems. A Java launcher is not automatically a Bedrock launcher, and a Java mod cannot convert the game into Bedrock.
Minecraft’s platform comparison explains that Java Edition is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux, while Bedrock is the edition available on Windows 10/11, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. On a Windows PC, the official launcher provides access to both editions when the account owns the PC bundle. See Mojang’s Java and Bedrock comparison for the platform distinction.

- With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
- Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
- A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
- The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
- The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.
Can Bedrock players play with Java players?
Not directly in the normal multiplayer systems. Java and Bedrock use different multiplayer networks, so a Java player launching through TLauncher cannot simply join a standard Bedrock world or server because friends are playing Bedrock.
If your friends are playing on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, mobile, or Bedrock on Windows, launch Minecraft for Windows through the official launcher. Bedrock supports cross-play among supported Bedrock platforms, subject to the relevant Microsoft/Xbox account, online-service, parental-control, and platform requirements. Java players should use Java Edition servers and multiplayer features instead.
What to do on Mac or Linux
The official desktop Bedrock route is Windows 10/11. Minecraft’s platform information lists Java Edition for Windows, macOS, and Linux, but lists Bedrock for Windows and supported consoles and mobile devices.

Therefore:
- macOS or Linux: the official desktop choice is Java Edition.
- Need Bedrock cross-play: use a supported Windows PC, console, Android device, or iOS device.
- Considering a virtual machine or compatibility layer: treat it as a separate technical and licensing problem, not a guaranteed official Bedrock solution. The official documentation does not present those methods as the standard route.
Common “Bedrock on TLauncher” misunderstandings
| What you see | What it usually means | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| A TLauncher version list contains “PE” or “Bedrock” wording | The wording may refer to a different platform, project, or unofficial distribution. It does not prove that the official Windows Bedrock client is being launched. | Use the official Minecraft Launcher and select Minecraft for Windows. |
| A guide tells you to install Java first | That is characteristic of a Java Edition workflow. | Do not treat Java prerequisites as Bedrock support. |
| A mod claims to add Bedrock to TLauncher | A mod may alter Java Edition or imitate another feature; it does not provide Microsoft’s official Bedrock client. | Do not use it as a substitute for the official installation. |
| A website offers a “Bedrock TLauncher” download | It may be an unofficial, modified, or malicious installer. | Do not run it. Obtain the launcher from Minecraft.net or the Microsoft Store. |
Safety and account guidance
The safest approach is to download the Bedrock client only through Minecraft.net, the Microsoft Store, or the official platform store for a console or mobile device. Avoid downloads claiming to be a cracked, portable, or modified “Bedrock for TLauncher” client.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTLauncher’s own official-domain guidance tells users to use its listed domain and check a downloaded file’s digital signature. That is a general security precaution; it does not make TLauncher the official Microsoft distribution channel for Bedrock. Never enter your Microsoft credentials into a suspicious launcher or third-party login page.
Choose the right solution for your situation
| Your situation | Best route |
|---|---|
| Windows PC with TLauncher already installed | Install the official Minecraft Launcher and use it for Minecraft for Windows. Keep TLauncher separate for Java only if desired. |
| Windows PC without game ownership | Buy or redeem Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC, then sign into the official launcher with that Microsoft account. |
| You want to play with console or mobile Bedrock friends | Launch Minecraft for Windows on Windows, or use Bedrock on a supported console or mobile device. |
| You use macOS or Linux | Use Java Edition on that desktop platform, or play Bedrock on a supported Windows PC, console, Android device, or iOS device. |
| You want a supported physical Bedrock platform | Minecraft for Nintendo Switch is a console Bedrock alternative, not a method for making TLauncher run Bedrock. Check the region, edition, stock, and Nintendo Switch compatibility before buying. |
Bottom line
For Bedrock on Windows, install the official Minecraft Launcher, sign in with the owning Microsoft account, and select Minecraft for Windows. TLauncher’s documented Windows workflow is Java-focused, so it should not be treated as the proper official launcher for Bedrock. If a download claims to add official Bedrock support to TLauncher, skip it and use the Microsoft-supported route instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can TLauncher run Minecraft Bedrock Edition?
No. Installing Java, choosing a different version, or adding a Java mod loader does not turn TLauncher into the official Windows Bedrock client. Use the official Minecraft Launcher and select Minecraft for Windows.
How do I install Bedrock Edition on a Windows PC?
On Windows 10 or 11, install the official launcher from Minecraft.net or the Microsoft Store, sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the game, and choose Minecraft for Windows. If the account does not own it, purchase or redeem Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC first.
Can TLauncher Java players join Bedrock servers?
No. Java and Bedrock use different multiplayer systems. To play with Bedrock friends on supported consoles, mobile devices, or Windows, launch Minecraft for Windows rather than Java through TLauncher.
Can I officially play Bedrock on Mac or Linux?
The official platform information lists Java Edition for macOS and Linux, while Bedrock is officially available on Windows 10/11, consoles, Android, and iOS. Use a supported Windows PC or another supported Bedrock platform for the official Bedrock experience.
The Bottom Line
Use the official Minecraft Launcher—not TLauncher—to play Bedrock Edition on Windows. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC, choose Minecraft for Windows, and launch it there. TLauncher does not become the official Bedrock client through a version setting, Java installation, or mod.
