Play Rocket Raccoon as a mobile Strategist: keep allies in reach of your healing orbs, add ranged damage when the team is stable, and use your beacon and ultimate to support coordinated pushes. His best value comes from positioning and timing—not from treating him as a damage dealer first.
What Rocket does on a team
Rocket is a Strategist with ranged fire, area healing, mobility, a revive-and-supply beacon, and an ally-buffing ultimate. The official Rocket Raccoon hero page lists 250 health and 6 m/s movement speed; these are published game values, not independent test results. His job is to keep allies fighting while finding safe opportunities to contribute damage.

A useful priority order is to support allies who need healing, stay positioned to respond to a downed teammate, and fire Bombard Mode when healing is not the immediate need. This is practical guidance based on the listed abilities, not a tested universal rotation or matchup prescription.

Repair Mode launches bouncing spheres. A sphere can heal an ally it passes through, then create a healing field when it impacts. The hero page describes a 5 m spherical healing radius, up to 10 bounces, and says the spheres slow as they approach injured allies. On July 10, 2026, Marvel Rivals raised the healing when an orb passes through an ally from 50 to 55; use that dated balance update rather than an older hero-page value for this changed mechanic. See the July 2026 balance post.

- Finally! Pop culture with a purpose!
- Holds your phone, game controller, whatever you want - while it charges!
- Comes with a six foot long charging cable - right in the Box!
- Heavy Duty PVC Statue and sturdy base that holds without tipping over - or breaking like other fragile resin statues.
- Easily holds and displays most all hand held electronics - including the new Nintendo Lite!
- Send orbs toward allies who are taking pressure, so the pass-through and impact field can both help when circumstances allow.
- Use surfaces to make the spheres bounce into areas where teammates are grouped or likely to move.
- Keep sight of the team while healing; Repair Mode supports allies, but it does not remove the need to reposition when a fight shifts.
When to use Bombard Mode
Bombard Mode gives Rocket ranged damage. Use it to contribute pressure when allies are not in urgent need of healing, while keeping your position close enough to return to support them. The official ability descriptions establish the damage and healing tools, but do not establish a fixed damage-to-healing ratio or a universally optimal firing pattern.
Use mobility to stay useful
Rocket has multiple ways to change position. Jetpack Dash moves 8 m in the direction of the crosshair; the official hero page lists two charges that recharge over 10 seconds per charge. Wild Crawl lets him run along walls. Its listed speed is 8 m/s, matching the January 2026 balance change that reduced it from 10 m/s. Flying Ace slows descent to a listed 3.5 m/s. The published mechanics appear on the hero page and in the January 2026 balance post.

Place B.R.B. where a revive can matter
B.R.B. is a beacon that can revive a fallen ally within a listed maximum distance of 50 m and periodically produces armor packs and Rocket Boots. The hero page lists a 40-second cooldown and 300-second duration. It also says reclaiming the beacon reduces its cooldown according to its remaining health, with a minimum cooldown of 5 seconds when reclaiming a full-health beacon. These are values displayed on the official page; the unusually long listed duration should not be treated as a definitive guide to live strategic timing without checking the in-game ability panel.

Get more from C.Y.A. by staying close
C.Y.A. deploys a Cosmic Yarn Amplifier that detects nearby allies and boosts their damage. The hero page lists a 20 m radius, 12-second duration, 40% damage boost, 100 bonus health per second, and a 150 bonus-health cap. Those broad listed values need the July 10, 2026 update for context: the ultimate’s energy cost increased from 4000 to 4300, and both damage boost and bonus-health generation start decaying at 8 m, reaching a maximum 60% reduction at 20 m. These changes are documented in the July 2026 balance post.
Use the amplifier where allies can remain close to it, such as during a coordinated push or a fight around a shared objective. Do not assume that an ally at the edge of the listed radius receives the full effect. The balance values above are current as of that dated update; later live changes are not established here.

Make team-ups a situational bonus
Official team-up references describe Rocket synergies with Groot and Squirrel Girl. A July 11, 2026 balance post increased healing from Groot team-up spores from 15 to 20 per spore, and Squirrel Girl team-up acorns from 20 to 30 per acorn. These are dated patch values, not a guarantee that the mechanics remain unchanged in a later live patch. See the July 11 balance post and the team-up abilities page.

Planet X Pals, Rocket and Groot’s team-up, also received visual-effect adjustments in the July 16, 2026 patch notes; that note records a presentation change, not another healing value. The July 16 patch notes list the adjustment.
Do not rely on the old Rocket Network relationship as current advice: the January 2026 balance post says Peni Parker lost Armored Spider-Nest, the ability she had previously gained through Rocket’s team-up. Check the live roster and in-game ability panel for current team-up availability.
Check the live kit when exact numbers matter
Rocket’s official hero page is useful for ability descriptions, but later balance posts supersede some values shown there. Before building a strategy around exact statistics, check the latest patch notes and Rocket’s in-game ability panel. The mechanics and changes above reflect official information through the July 2026 updates; they do not establish an October 2026 live-data check, independent performance testing, win rates, matchup rankings, or map-specific routes.
