Riot lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the console platforms for VALORANT on its official console page. Use a controller compatible with the console you own; Riot’s page does not endorse one universal model.

- Connect a controller compatible with that console.
- Launch VALORANT on the console and play using its controller input.
Riot describes the console release as bringing VALORANT from keyboard play to controller play in its Vanguard x VALORANT article.
Can you use a controller on VALORANT for PC?
The official sources cited here establish controller play on console but do not establish whether the PC version supports controller input. If you mean PC, check Riot’s current support information or the game’s input settings rather than relying on the console setup steps.

Console input rules and PC cross-play
Riot says mouse and keyboard are not allowed for console gameplay, and console players do not cross-play with PC players. Riot frames these choices as measures to maintain competitive integrity. Its article also discusses input-spoofing devices as a cheating method, not as an approved way to connect mouse and keyboard on console.
Which consoles are supported?
Riot’s console page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A separate 2024 availability announcement described the launch focus as Gen9 consoles and gave regional availability at that time. Because that announcement is historical and availability can change, consult Riot’s current console page for present access in your region.
