Konami also maintains an official site for the Zone of the Enders HD Collection. That collection is a separate edition from the Steam listing for M∀RS. The available official information confirms the collection exists, but it does not establish a PC release for it. Do not buy or install the collection expecting it to be the Windows version unless a current, regional store page explicitly lists PC support.

The listing presents older Windows versions and older graphics hardware. If you are using a newer Windows release, treat the table as the publisher’s stated baseline rather than a current compatibility certification. Check the live Steam page, your graphics-driver support, and the platform’s refund conditions before committing to a purchase.
Additional VR requirement
Steam identifies SteamVR support and says a gamepad is required for VR. It lists a GeForce GTX 1060 or higher for proper VR performance. That GPU threshold is specifically attached to VR performance; it is not a replacement for the general minimum and recommended rows above.
What controller do you need?
The Steam listing uses the explicit labels “Gamepad required” and “XInput Controller required.” Have an XInput-compatible PC gamepad ready before launching. The listing does not identify a particular controller model as tested, so the requirement should not be read as a certification of any one brand or device.
What XInput means for setup
XInput is the controller interface expected by many Windows games. A pad that offers an XInput mode should be set to that mode before you start the game. If your device has several operating modes, avoid leaving it in a legacy or DirectInput-only mode when the game is looking for XInput.
Do not confuse “a controller connected to Windows” with “an XInput controller available to the game.” A device can light up and appear in a USB list while still presenting the wrong input protocol.

- Connect the gamepad directly to the PC, or pair it using the method supported by the device.
- Switch the pad to its XInput setting if it has a mode button or toggle.

A reliable default keyboard map is not documented in the official listing reviewed for this guide. Do not rely on an internet key chart, an assumed console layout, or a claim that keyboard-only play is supported unless the current game menus or an authoritative manual show it.
How to verify input in your copy
- Launch the game with the XInput pad connected.

A sensible first-run sequence
- Start at 1,920×1,080 if your system is close to the recommended specification.
- Move to 4K only after confirming that your GPU and display can sustain the result you want.

The game does not detect the controller
- Exit the game completely.
- Reconnect the pad and confirm that it is in XInput mode.
- Connect it before starting Steam or before relaunching the game.
- Disconnect other gamepads, wheels, or virtual input devices temporarily so there is only one obvious controller.
- Open the game’s controls screen again and test each input.
If the device works in another XInput game but not here, check the current Steam controller settings and the game’s own input options before installing third-party remapping software. Remappers can add another translation layer and make diagnosis harder.
The controller works in Windows but not in the game
Windows recognition alone does not prove that the game sees an XInput device. Recheck the pad’s hardware mode, restart Steam with the pad already connected, and remove competing virtual controllers. If the problem persists, consult the controller maker’s current Windows driver or mode instructions and the game’s current Steam support discussions; do not assume that a DirectInput-only pad satisfies the requirement.

The game starts, but performance is below expectations
- Compare your PC with both rows of Steam’s requirements, not just the processor.
- Confirm that the game is using the intended graphics processor on a laptop or multi-GPU system.
- Start at 1,920×1,080, the resolution attached to the recommended specification.
- Close background applications and let shader, driver, or first-run tasks finish.
- Lower resolution or graphics settings one step at a time and test the same scene again.
The published requirements are minimum and recommended targets, not a frame-rate guarantee. A modern card that is below the listed VR threshold may still run desktop mode acceptably while failing to deliver comfortable VR performance.
VR is available but uncomfortable or unstable
- Verify that SteamVR is running correctly before launching the game.
- Confirm that the headset is tracking and that its room setup is complete.
- Use the XInput gamepad specified by the Steam listing.
- Check whether your GPU reaches the GTX 1060-or-higher VR figure.

The non-Japanese listing specifies English audio with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish interface/subtitles; the Japanese-region title specifies Japanese audio and text.
