Use the new Arcade Training Mode to practice sections of a stage and refine your movement against difficult patterns. CAVE’s official descriptions confirm stage selection, adjustable ship settings and section practice; they do not confirm a dedicated boss-select screen or a way to reset individual attacks.
Where to find Arcade Training Mode
Training Mode was added to Arcade Mode in version 1.1.0 on October 1, 2026, according to the official Steam Community update. Open Arcade Mode and look for its Training Mode option in the current game build. The announcement confirms the mode’s addition but does not provide a more detailed menu path.

What you can practice
CAVE producer Akihiro Kotani described the intended controls in the producer roadmap: “You’ll be able to choose the stage you want to practice—including the new AREA6—and freely adjust your ship settings, giving you the space to practice at your own pace and work on specific sections.”
- Choose a stage: Pick the stage containing the section you want to learn, including AREA6.
- Adjust ship settings: Set up your ship before practicing; the roadmap does not enumerate which settings are adjustable.
- Work on a specific section: Use the mode to focus on a portion of a stage rather than treating each attempt as a full run.
The official descriptions do not establish direct boss selection, attack-by-attack resets, or boss-health adjustment. If you need one of those functions, check the current build rather than assuming it is available.

A repeatable routine for learning a boss pattern
Use Training Mode’s section practice to make each attempt answer one small question. This is a practice approach, not a special in-game feature or a technique prescribed by CAVE.
- Choose the relevant stage section. Start with the closest available section to the boss pattern you want to understand.
- Watch one attack before trying to optimize it. Notice when the pattern begins, how its shots travel, and where movement space remains open. Focus on the shape and timing rather than trying to dodge everything at once.
- Pick one movement plan. For example, decide where you will move first and what space you will preserve for the next part of the pattern. Keep the plan simple enough to repeat.
- Repeat while changing one choice. If the plan fails, alter one movement decision on the next attempt. Changing several things at once makes it harder to tell what helped.
- Keep the ship setup consistent while comparing attempts. Once you have a workable movement plan, adjust ship settings only when you have a specific reason to test a change.
Controller setup
The Steam listing recommends an XInput-compatible controller for PC. It does not require a particular brand or model. Choose a compatible controller whose stick or pad layout you can use comfortably and consistently; controller choice is setup guidance, not a substitute for learning a pattern.
