You can’t transfer NBA 2K25 MyCAREER progress or builds through a supported method documented by 2K. 2K’s sunset notice says MyCAREER will no longer be available starting January 1, 2027. You can record your build details for reference, but screenshots are not a transferable save.
Can I transfer my NBA 2K25 build to NBA 2K26?
No supported way to transfer NBA 2K25 MyCAREER progress or a build to NBA 2K26 is identified in 2K’s official materials. The NBA 2K25 FAQ documents cross-progression for MyTEAM and a shared VC wallet within a console family; it does not describe a MyCAREER migration between titles. What happens to NBA 2K25 MyCAREER, and when?
2K Support’s NBA 2K25: Server Sunset, published September 3, 2026 and updated October 2, 2026, gives three distinct dates:
- October 30, 2026: NBA 2K25 will no longer be available for purchase.
- December 31, 2026: NBA 2K25 will be discontinued.
- January 1, 2027: multiplayer and online modes will be unavailable; MyCAREER and MyTEAM will no longer be available, and players will no longer be able to earn VC.
The notice says existing owners can redownload the game and play offline modes. It names Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA as modes that remain playable, subject to server-dependent features being unavailable. MyCAREER is not included in that list. 2K’s notice states: “As of January 1, 2027, you’ll no longer be able to play multiplayer games or access any online game modes. MyCAREER and MyTEAM will no longer be available, and it will no longer be possible to earn Virtual Currency (VC).”

What cross-progression does NBA 2K25 support?
The FAQ describes cross-generation MyTEAM progress and a VC wallet shared within the same console family: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The shared MyTEAM items include points, cards, and MyTEAM progress; the wallet covers VC earned or purchased. If you want to recreate a player later, make a personal reference record before MyCAREER becomes unavailable. Capture screenshots or write down the build’s attributes and other details you want to remember. This preserves information for your own use; it does not export the save, make the build importable, or guarantee that it can be recreated in another NBA 2K title.

2K’s sunset notice does not provide a MyCAREER save-export or backup procedure. It also does not establish that console cloud saves, USB storage, or account linking will preserve a playable or importable MyCAREER build. Check 2K’s official sunset notice for updates before relying on a change in service dates or transfer options.
