Make the membership offer easy to find
Add a direct Join link
Add /join to your channel URL and place the resulting link in the looping stream’s description. YouTube says this takes viewers directly to the membership window. You can also use the link in video descriptions, cards and end screens, community posts, and other social channels. YouTube’s channel-membership promotion guidance explains the available surfaces.
Explain the perks in a membership intro video
Use the membership intro video to tell viewers what the offer includes and why the perks may matter to them. It must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and cannot have third-party copyright or music claims. If you mention tier prices, account for variation by platform and country or region rather than presenting a figure as universal.
Share the gift opt-in link
Include your channel-specific allow-gifts URL in the description or other channel content, alongside a plain explanation of what it does. YouTube provides URL forms based on a channel’s external ID or channel name. Viewers need to opt in and subscribe to your channel to be eligible for gifted memberships; being eligible is not a promise of selection. Use live chat reminders without overpromising
For a loop that may run for a long time, short, occasional reminders are easier to understand than a constant sales pitch. Adapt the wording to your actual perks and link locations. For example:
- “Want to see the channel membership perks? Open the Join link in the description.”
- “To be eligible for a gifted membership, opt in using the gift link in the description and subscribe to the channel. Opting in does not guarantee a gift.”
- “Gift memberships provide access to member perks for up to one month. They do not renew, and recipients are not charged when the gift ends.”
A gifted membership is announced in live chat with a countdown ticker for a limited time; the duration depends on the purchase amount. If chat or the stream ends before the announcement appears, YouTube says the gift will still be distributed. The announcement is therefore useful, but viewers should not have to catch it in order to understand the offer.

Check whether Join and gifting are available
Do not assume every viewer will see the same controls. YouTube lists possible reasons the Join button may not appear, including memberships being turned off, location availability, a Made for Kids designation, and limitations on particular watch pages or platforms. If a viewer cannot find Join, direct them to your channel homepage or the /join link, and check that memberships are enabled on your channel.
YouTube lists gifted memberships for horizontal streams and the vertical live feed, subject to availability and eligibility. Its general guidance does not establish that a prerecorded stream running continuously, or an automated restart, receives special treatment. Verify gifting on the specific channel and stream format you use; avoid promising that the Join button, opt-in control, or gift announcement will be available to every viewer.

Keep the loop running while you promote it
The promotion steps above can be used with a looping stream, but YouTube’s documented membership guidance does not spell out a separate rule set for continuous prerecorded loops or automated restarts. For the DIY approach, configure and monitor your own YouTube stream, keep the description and chat reminders accurate, and verify the membership controls on the actual stream. If a control is unavailable, point viewers to the channel homepage or direct Join link instead of claiming the loop guarantees access.
