For the Avian Pox objective, put infected dinosaurs in separate holding enclosures by species. If infected T. rex and Compies are present, Frontier Support advised creating one enclosure for each species. If the timer stalls, try separating infected animals from healthy members of their own species too; that extra step is player-reported guidance, not a confirmed universal rule.
How to quarantine infected dinosaurs
- Identify the infected animals. Check which dinosaurs have the disease before moving anyone, so you can sort them by species.
- Build separate holding enclosures for each infected species. In a player’s Avian Pox objective involving T. rex and Compies, Frontier Support advised: “Try create 2 new enclosures. One for the T-Rexes and one for the Compys infected.” Frontier Support’s reply is the clearest guidance for that case.
- Move the infected dinosaurs into the matching enclosures. The guidance supports separating by infected species, not placing every dinosaur in an individual enclosure.
- Watch the objective text and keep the animals alive while it runs. Use the duration shown in your scenario; the 60 seconds in the player’s question is not evidence of a fixed duration for every quarantine objective.
Which teams and facilities do you need?
The teams have different roles. Frontier’s feature overview says Mobile Veterinary Units operate from the Paleo Medical Facility and care for sick or injured dinosaurs. Capture and Ranger Teams come from the Response Facility and support park security and dinosaur wellbeing.

- Capture Team: Use it to tranquilize and move dinosaurs when your scenario requires that. The available official summary establishes the team’s facility and general role, but does not document the full sequence of control inputs.
- Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU): Dispatch it from the Paleo Medical Facility for veterinary care. It is the team described for sick or injured dinosaurs.
- Ranger Team: Sent from the Response Facility; its stated role is park security and dinosaur wellbeing.
If the quarantine timer does not advance
Check the enclosure setup before assuming the objective is broken. Players in the same Avian Pox discussion say infected animals may need to be apart from healthy animals of the same species as well as from other species. Try moving any healthy same-species dinosaurs out of the quarantine enclosure and monitor the objective again. This is community-reported troubleshooting: official material found for the game does not confirm that healthy animals must always be separated or explain the timer’s exact logic.
If the objective still appears stuck after checking the separation, reload the game and see whether its status changes. If it continues to behave unexpectedly, contact Frontier Support. Timers and objective behavior may vary by scenario, platform, mode, or game update; the available official material does not establish a universal timer rule.

Does Sandbox mode affect access?
Frontier says genomes, buildings, and technologies must first be unlocked through contracts, missions, and research in the main campaign before they become available in Sandbox mode. After unlocking, they remain available across islands. See Frontier’s Sandbox mode overview for the stated unlock rules.
