A useful ranking depends on which item versions are eligible, the role each card must fill, chemistry needs, game mode, and budget. The official ratings page and WeFUT’s database can help you build a shortlist, but neither establishes which nine cards perform best in play.
What counts as a silver card?
EA’s official FC 25 ratings page says its launch ratings table reflects Gold, Silver, and Bronze Player Items available in Ultimate Team at launch. A September 2024 guide from AS/MeriStation describes silver items as having an overall rating of 65–74. That range is a category definition, not a promise that every such item is still available in Ultimate Team now.

Before comparing candidates, decide whether your list covers base silver items only or also special silver versions and evolutions. The available listings do not settle that scope, and mixing item types without saying so can make the comparison misleading.
Why an official ratings sort is not a gameplay ranking
EA explains that sorting its ratings table by Rank orders items first by overall rating, then uses subjective factors based on athletes’ real-life performance rather than item attributes alone. That is useful context for browsing EA’s list, but it does not answer which cards are strongest for a particular Ultimate Team role or squad.

How to compare silver candidates
WeFUT’s FC 25 player database separates rare and non-rare silver items and lists positions alongside pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending, and physical ratings. Its captured listings include many 74-rated cards with different attribute profiles, so overall rating alone is not enough to select a winner.
- Set the role first. For a forward, weigh pace, shooting, and dribbling against the job you want the player to do. For a defender, focus on defending and physicality while considering pace. Do not treat every attribute as equally important for every position.
- Check listed positions. Compare candidates who can play the role you need; a high overall rating does not make a card suitable for a different position.
- Account for squad fit. Check the card’s nation, club, and league links in the game or a current database. The captured sources do not establish chemistry outcomes for particular squads.
- Keep item versions and rarity clear. Compare like with like, or label the differences if you include rare, non-rare, special, or evolved items together.
- Choose for your mode and budget. A recommendation may differ with your intended mode and price ceiling. Current availability and market values are not established by the cited listings, so verify them in-game or with a current platform-specific market source before relying on them.
What a defensible ranked nine needs
A ranked list should state its scope and method, then verify each candidate’s current item details. At minimum, disclose whether it includes base items only or special versions, identify the intended positions or roles, explain how relevant attributes are weighted, and account for chemistry links and mode. If prices are included, specify the platform and the date checked.

Without those checks, naming nine cards in order would imply evidence of current availability, chemistry fit, price, or gameplay performance that the available sources do not provide. The official ratings and WeFUT listings support comparison, but they do not validate a definitive top nine.
