Choose the right Roblox recovery route

Username versus display name: they are not the same
Your username is the unique account identifier used for access. On a Roblox profile, it appears as @username beneath the display name.
Your display name is the public name shown to other players. It is separate from the username, and multiple accounts can use the same display name. Remembering only a display name therefore may not be enough to identify the account. Roblox explains the distinction in its display-name guidance and username-recovery instructions.

Reset a forgotten Roblox password by email
Use email recovery when you can access the email address currently attached to the Roblox account.
- Open the official Roblox Account Recovery page.
- Select Forgot Password or Username? or the similarly labeled Forgot Username or Password link.
- Enter the email address associated with the account.
- Select Submit.
- Open the password-reset email and select Reset Password.
- If Roblox finds multiple accounts connected to that email, select the correct account.
- Enter and confirm a new password.
The email must match Roblox’s records exactly. For example, an address entered as [email protected] may not match an account recorded as [email protected]. Check spelling, punctuation, dots, and the correct domain.
The reset email goes to the email address currently associated with the account, not necessarily an older address that used to be attached. If an email does not arrive after a few minutes, check spam, junk, and promotions folders. Roblox’s official forgotten-password instructions specifically recommend checking the exact address and those folders.

- Re-enter the address carefully on the official recovery page.
- Check every likely inbox, including an address used by a parent.
- Search spam, junk, promotions, and email filters for Roblox.
- Consider whether the email was changed by someone who accessed the account.
- Try phone recovery, Quick Login, a passkey, or an email one-time code if those options are available.
- If you no longer control the email account itself, use that email provider’s account-recovery process first. Roblox Support may still be appropriate if the Roblox email was changed or other recovery methods are unavailable.
Reset a forgotten Roblox password by phone
Phone recovery works only when the phone number was already added to the Roblox account. Roblox also limits phone verification to select countries, and phone-number login is available only in some Roblox apps.
- Open the Roblox password-recovery page.
- Select the Phone tab.
- Choose the correct country code.
- Enter the phone number attached to the account.
- Select Continue.
- Select Verify and complete the verification step.
- Enter the six-digit code Roblox sends to the phone.
- If more than one account is shown, choose the correct account.
- Create and confirm a new password.
Roblox’s verification documentation says verification messages may be delivered by WhatsApp or SMS, while the password-recovery instructions describe an SMS code. Do not assume the same delivery method in every country or Roblox flow; use the method shown on your screen. More details are available in Roblox’s email and phone verification guide.
The Phone tab is missing
A missing Phone tab does not necessarily mean the account is unrecoverable. Phone verification depends on the country, and phone-number login also depends on the app. Try the email route, a logged-in device with Quick Login, a previously configured passkey, the email one-time-code option, or Roblox Support.
Find a forgotten Roblox username
Use the official email or phone recovery flow
Open the Account Recovery page, choose the username-or-password recovery option, and enter the exact verified email address. Follow the recovery email; Roblox can display the username or usernames associated with that recovery method.

Check a device that is already logged in
If Roblox is open on another phone, tablet, computer, or console, do not log out or uninstall the app yet. Open the account’s profile and look for the @username beneath the display name. Record it before changing devices.
You can also use that device to approve Quick Login, which is often faster than trying to remember the username and password.
Look through receipts and saved records
Roblox says that some purchase receipts include the username used for the purchase. A receipt may instead show only payment information, so it is useful evidence but not an automatic password reset.

As practical discovery steps, check:
- Saved browser passwords and autofill records.
- Your password manager.
- Old Roblox emails and account notifications.
- Purchase emails and app-store order history.
- An old profile link or a friend’s view of your profile.
These clues can help you identify the account, but they do not replace Roblox’s recovery or ownership-verification process. A display name, avatar screenshot, friend list, approximate creation date, or old gameplay history alone should not be treated as guaranteed proof of ownership.
If you forgot both your Roblox username and password
A verified email or phone number can solve both problems in one recovery process. Roblox can identify the username linked to the recovery method, after which the password-reset flow lets you create a new password. If one email is connected to several Roblox accounts, Roblox may display multiple accounts and ask you to choose the right one.
If the email is verified and you remember the password, you may be able to log in with the email instead of the username. Roblox supports verified-email login in browsers and mobile apps. Enter the email exactly as stored. If that email belongs to multiple usernames, Roblox may require the username and password instead. Email login is a shortcut for a forgotten username; it does not reset a password you no longer know. See Roblox’s email-login instructions.
Other ways to get back in without typing the password
Quick Login from an already logged-in device
Quick Login transfers access to a new device. It does not reveal or change the password, so change the password and review security settings after you get in.

- Select Log In with Another Device.
- Note the one-time code. It is valid for five minutes.
- On the device that is already logged in, open Account Settings > Quick Login.
- Enter the code shown on the new device.
- Review the login details.
- Select Grant Full Account Access.
Quick Login may not be available to every player, is currently unavailable on Xbox according to Roblox’s help page, and requires the devices to be near one another. Depending on the current app interface, you may use a QR code or a six-character code; some phones may need a separate QR scanner. Follow the options Roblox actually presents.

Email one-time code
Roblox’s email one-time-code feature lets some users sign in without entering a username or password. It requires a verified email and is not available to everyone.
- On the login page, select Email Me a One-Time Code.
- Enter the verified email address.
- Enter the six-digit code Roblox sends.
- Choose the correct account if the email is associated with multiple accounts.
If the code does not arrive, check spam or junk and select Resend. Enter a newly requested code on the same device used to request it. Never share the code: Roblox says it will not contact you to ask for it. See the official one-time-code guide.
Passkey login
A passkey helps only if it was added to the Roblox account before you lost the password. It uses the unlock method for a supported device or password manager, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or a device PIN. A passkey stored on a phone may also approve login on a computer through a nearby-device or QR-code process.
Roblox’s current passkey documentation lists support for iOS 16 or later; Windows 10; macOS Ventura; ChromeOS 109 or later; Chrome 109 or later; Safari 16 or later; Edge 109 or later; and FIDO2-compatible hardware keys. Its setup instructions mention Android, but Android is not included in the compatibility summary on that page, so do not assume universal Android support. Check the current login screen and the Roblox passkey guide.
No email or phone number: contact Roblox Support
Roblox’s automatic recovery form cannot reset a password when no email or phone number was added to the account. Roblox’s username guidance identifies purchase history or receipts that include a username as another possible way to locate it. For a broader ownership review, use the official Roblox Support form.
Roblox says Support may explore other ownership-verification options in some cases, including cases where an account had no email and no credit-card or PayPal purchase associated with its creation. That is not a promise that the account will be recovered. The final decision depends on whether Roblox can verify ownership.
Information to prepare for Support
The Support instructions say the form may ask for a Roblox username, the device involved, a help category, and a detailed description. Prepare as many of the following as you can:
- Current or former username, if known.
- The first email address ever added to the account.
- The billing email used for the first payment.
- Approximate account-creation date.
- Approximate date you last accessed the account.
- The device and platform normally used.
- Purchase dates, payment provider, order numbers, and receipts.
- A clear explanation of whether you forgot credentials, lost access to the email, had the email changed, or believe the account was hacked.
Roblox specifically says the first email added to the account and the billing email used for the first payment can help with verification, even if a hacker later changed the email. They do not guarantee recovery.

If the form asks for a username you genuinely do not know, do not invent one. Explain in the description that the username is unknown and provide every other ownership detail. This is sensible guidance because Roblox’s form requests a username, but it is not a guarantee that Support will accept a request without one.
Use receipts as evidence, not as a password reset
Roblox’s receipt guide says a receipt submitted to Support should visibly include the:
- Order number.
- Billing address.
- Roblox product.
- Purchase amount.
Roblox provides purchase-history or receipt guidance for Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Microsoft, Xbox, Xsolla, and Samsung. A receipt can demonstrate payment history without displaying the Roblox username, and Support still has to review it.
Send billing evidence only through the official Roblox Support process. Do not send full payment-card numbers, passwords, cookies, backup codes, or unrelated personal information. Keep the fields Roblox requests visible, and avoid exposing additional sensitive details that are not needed.

Treat a hacked account as both an account-recovery problem and a device-security problem. If possible, use a clean device while changing credentials.
- Remove suspicious downloads and browser extensions.
- Run a full malware or virus scan.
- Restart the device and scan it again.
- Reset the Roblox password using email, phone, or another available recovery method.
- Enable 2-Step Verification.
- Contact Roblox Support if the reset fails or the attacker changed the recovery details.
These steps follow Roblox’s hacked-account guidance. If the account is still open on a device, preserve that access long enough to record the username and use Quick Login, but do not assume an open session means the account is secure.
End suspicious sessions after access is restored
Open Settings > Security > Where You’re Logged In. Review the listed devices, approximate locations, and recent activity. Log out suspicious individual sessions, or choose Log Out of All Other Sessions. Roblox describes these controls in its session-management documentation.
Lost Robux or items after a compromise
Account access and lost-item recovery are separate issues. Roblox does not guarantee that a compromised account will be restored to its previous state or that lost virtual items or currency will be recovered. In limited circumstances, Roblox may offer recovery of lost inventory or approximate value.

Roblox says users seeking that limited assistance should contact Support within 30 days of the compromise. This is a time limit associated with possible help for lost inventory or currency; it should not be presented as a universal deadline for every forgotten-password or account-recovery request.
Recovery help for children under 13
Roblox says an under-13 user can use a parent’s verified email as a parental recovery email in Settings > Account Info. That address can be different from the email used for the parent’s linked Roblox account. This recovery option must be set up before it is needed.
Roblox’s privacy policy says a parent or guardian should submit the Customer Support Form for an under-13 user. A parent should provide only the information requested through the official form.

Roblox says the email is not associated with an account
Check exact spelling, punctuation, dots, and alternate email addresses. The address may have been attached to a different Roblox account, or a hacker may have replaced it. If several accounts use the same email, choose the correct account when Roblox presents the list.
One email is connected to multiple accounts
The password-reset flow can show multiple accounts and ask you to select one. Ordinary email login may require the specific username and password when one email is linked to multiple usernames. Try the recovery flow rather than guessing between accounts.
I know the username but not the password
A username by itself is not a password-reset credential. You still need the attached email, attached phone number, another valid sign-in method, or Support’s ownership review.
The six-digit email code fails
Request a new code, then enter the newest code on the same device used to request it. Check spam or junk, confirm the exact verified email, and never forward the code to anyone.

The Quick Login code expired
Quick Login codes are valid for five minutes. Return to the new device, generate a fresh code, keep both devices near each other, and approve the request from Account Settings > Quick Login on the already logged-in device.
The passkey does not appear
Passkeys work only when previously added to the account and when the device, browser, password manager, or security key is supported. Check that you are using the device where the passkey is stored, or try the nearby-device or QR option on a computer.
I have no purchase history
Do not assume that no receipts automatically ends every possibility. Automatic recovery still requires a recovery method, but Roblox Support may examine other ownership information. Recovery remains uncertain, so provide the first email, first billing email, former usernames, devices, dates, and any other relevant details you genuinely know.
Secure the account immediately after recovery
- Create a unique Roblox password that has never been used on another website.
- Verify an email address and add a phone number where the feature is available.
- Enable 2-Step Verification.
- Generate backup codes and store them somewhere secure. Roblox says backup codes are shown only once, each code is single-use, and generating a new set deactivates the old set.
- Save enough recovery methods. Roblox notes that enhanced 2-Step Verification recovery may require two different verification methods if the primary method is lost; insufficient backup methods can prevent recovery.
- Add a passkey only on a personally owned device or password manager that other people cannot unlock.
- Review Settings > Security > Where You’re Logged In and end unfamiliar sessions.
- Use credentials only on
roblox.comor in the official Roblox app. - Never enter Roblox credentials into an experience, free-Robux website, browser extension, exploit, or third-party recovery service.
- Never share passwords, cookies, one-time codes, 2-Step Verification codes, or backup codes. Roblox’s account-safety guidance warns against these common theft methods.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Use Roblox’s official recovery page with the current verified email first, then try a verified phone, Quick Login, a passkey, or an email one-time code if available. With no usable recovery method, contact Roblox Support and provide ownership evidence without inventing details or sharing secrets. After getting back in, change the password, enable 2-Step Verification, save backup codes, and terminate unfamiliar sessions.
