To refund an eligible game bought through the Epic Games Store, sign in to your Epic account, open Transactions in account settings, find the purchase, and choose Request refund. The purchase label, platform, time since purchase, and recorded playtime determine whether you can request it yourself or need Player Support.
Check whether the purchase qualifies
Epic’s policy distinguishes PC and Mac purchases from mobile purchases. For PC and Mac, a game marked refundable or self-refundable is generally eligible within 14 days of purchase, provided the recorded runtime is less than two hours. For a pre-purchase, the 14-day period runs from release. On iOS and Android, eligible products must be marked refundable or self-refundable, and the stated window is two hours from purchase. - Self-refundable: Request the refund through Transactions.
- Refundable: Contact Player Support to request it.
- Non-refundable: The purchase is generally ineligible under Epic’s policy.
For early access and beta products, the same less-than-two-hours runtime condition applies. A self-refundable pre-purchase can be refunded before release; after release, the standard rules apply. For a pre-purchased bundle marked refundable or self-refundable, runtime must be under two hours across the products in the bundle. Request a refund through Epic
- Sign in to the Epic account that made the purchase.
- Open Account settings and select Transactions.
- Find the game purchase. If it is marked self-refundable, select Request refund.
- Choose a reason and submit the request.
If the purchase is marked refundable, use Player Support rather than the self-service option. If you believe a purchase meets the policy but no refund option appears, review its label and eligibility conditions, then contact Player Support. Know which purchases are excluded or limited
Epic says virtual currency, consumable digital items, many in-app purchases, and gifts are usually or generally not refundable. A purchase may also be ineligible if you were banned from the product or violated its terms. Epic may restrict refunds if it determines the policy is being abused, such as repeatedly buying and refunding the same product. Applicable law can affect these rules. Epic Games Store Refund Policy.
If an eligible recent purchase goes on sale, Epic says you can request a refund for the full amount and repurchase it at the sale price; it does not consider that refund abuse. Epic Games Store Refund Policy.

Where the money goes and how long it may take
Epic says refunds go to the original payment method whenever possible, and processing time depends on that method. Its current support instructions say funds may take up to 30 days to return; that is an estimate, not a promised bank posting date. In some regions, Epic may offer account balance instead. Epic’s refund policy applies to purchases made through Epic checkout on PC, Mac, and mobile. A console store, third-party mobile store, or developer payment provider handles refunds for purchases processed through it.
