To close the public police positions, edit the mission’s core/fn_initCop.sqf. In the whitelist condition, replace the exception list cop_1 through cop_4 with a player identifier that nobody can use, such as cop_9999. Save the mission and restart the server so the edited mission is loaded.

This change removes the bypass for ordinary players while preserving the existing coplevel and adminlevel checks. Make a backup first and confirm that you are editing the mission currently selected by the server; Altis Life forks can place or implement this logic differently.

In the Altis Life procedure documented by Pingperfect, the first four police variable names are treated as public exceptions. The mission checks the player’s variable name and skips the whitelist block when it matches one of these entries:
cop_1cop_2cop_3cop_4
Those names are normally assigned to the first four police positions. Because they appear in the exception list, a player occupying one of those slots can avoid the following whitelist test even without a police level. That is why an otherwise unapproved player may be able to select one of the first police positions.

Before editing: identify the active mission
Mission files are loaded from the server’s active Altis Life mission, not necessarily from every copy visible in your file manager. Editing an unused upload or an old backup has no effect.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteConfirm the mission and file path
- Open the server control panel or FTP account that exposes the mission files.
- Locate the mission that is selected in the server’s current mission or startup configuration.
- Within that mission, check for
core/fn_initCop.sqf. - Open the file and search for the whitelist condition containing the four public cop names.
If that path or condition is absent, stop and inspect the fork’s layout before changing another file. The procedure below matches the cited Altis Life implementation; similarly named files in another mission may not perform the same job.

Make a recoverable copy
- Download the original
fn_initCop.sqf, or duplicate it in the panel before editing. - Record the mission folder name and the date of the change.
- If your panel supports versioned backups, create one before saving the modified file.
A backup lets you restore the previous behavior if the mission fails to compile or another server change depends on the original exception list.
Apply the change in core/fn_initCop.sqf
1. Find the existing exception block
The relevant code in the cited procedure is:
if (!(str(player) in ["cop_1","cop_2","cop_3","cop_4"])) then {
if ((FETCH_CONST(life_coplevel) isEqualTo 0) && (FETCH_CONST(life_adminlevel) isEqualTo 0)) then {
["NotWhitelisted",false,true] call BIS_fnc_endMission;
sleep 35;
};
};
Keep the surrounding braces, the coplevel/adminlevel condition, the NotWhitelisted end-mission call and the delay. Only the names inside the first list need to change for this fix.
2. Replace the public names with an unused sentinel
Replace the four real slot names with an identifier that no player can receive in your mission. The documented example uses cop_9999:

if (!(str(player) in ["cop_9999"])) then {
if ((FETCH_CONST(life_coplevel) isEqualTo 0) && (FETCH_CONST(life_adminlevel) isEqualTo 0)) then {
["NotWhitelisted",false,true] call BIS_fnc_endMission;
sleep 35;
};
};
The exact sentinel is not important. Its important property is that it cannot be selected or assigned by a real player in your mission. If your framework already uses cop_9999 for a legitimate role, choose another impossible value instead. Do not remove the list entirely unless your fork’s syntax specifically requires a different construct.
3. Save the file without changing its syntax
Use the panel’s editor when available. If the host does not provide an editor, download the file over FTP, make the change in a plain-text editor, and upload it back to the same mission path. Preserve the file name, directory case and SQF punctuation. In particular:
- Keep the opening and closing braces balanced.
- Keep the semicolons at the end of the statements.
- Keep the quotation marks around the sentinel.
- Do not replace
isEqualTowith a different comparison operator. - Do not remove the nested coplevel/adminlevel test.
An editor that silently changes encoding or inserts rich-text formatting can prevent the mission from compiling. Plain text is the safest format for an SQF file.

How the conditional works
Understanding the two tests makes it easier to diagnose an unsuccessful change.
| Code portion | Function |
|---|---|
str(player) |
Converts the current player object to the player variable name used by the mission. |
str(player) in ["cop_1", ...] |
Checks whether that name is in the exception list. |
! before the membership test |
Runs the outer block only when the player is not an exception. |
FETCH_CONST(life_coplevel) isEqualTo 0 |
Checks whether the player has no cop level. |
FETCH_CONST(life_adminlevel) isEqualTo 0 |
Checks whether the player has no admin level. |
["NotWhitelisted",false,true] call BIS_fnc_endMission |
Ends the mission through the existing not-whitelisted path. |
With the original list, the outer condition is false for cop_1 through cop_4, so the inner rejection block is skipped for those names. With an unreachable sentinel, a normal player name is not in the list, so the outer condition is true and the level checks are evaluated.
A player with both levels set to zero reaches the existing NotWhitelisted path. A player who has an approved cop level or admin level does not satisfy both zero-level comparisons and therefore continues past this particular check. The change closes the public-slot exception; it does not replace your framework’s complete permission system.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Restart and verify the server
The server must reload the mission before the edit can affect players. Follow this sequence:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Stop the server, or use a control-panel workflow that safely applies mission-file changes before the next start.
- Save or upload the edited
core/fn_initCop.sqfin the active mission directory. - Start or restart the server so the mission is read again.
- Join with an account that has neither a cop level nor an admin level and attempt to select a formerly public police slot.
- Join with an account that is approved as a cop or administrator and confirm that it can pass this check.
The first account should be rejected through the mission’s existing NotWhitelisted path rather than being allowed into a public exception slot. The approved account should continue past this conditional. These outcomes follow from the code’s logic; they are not a claim of an independently run server test.
Check the server log if nothing changes
- Players can still use the slots: Verify that the server restarted and that the edited mission is the one loaded at startup. A second mission copy is a common cause of an apparently ignored edit.
- The server fails to load the mission: Restore the backup, then compare braces, quotation marks and semicolons in the edited block. An SQF syntax error can stop mission initialization.
- Approved staff are rejected: Confirm that the account’s cop or admin level is actually greater than zero in the data used by this mission. This edit does not grant permissions; it only removes the slot-name exemption.
- The file cannot be edited in the panel: Use FTP to download and upload the file, keeping the same relative path and file name.
- The expected block is missing: Treat the mission as a different fork or revision. Do not paste the example into an unrelated function without first confirming how that fork initializes cop roles.
Framework and fork differences
The AsYetUntitled framework’s v5.X.X Config_Master.hpp documentation identifies framework_version = "5.0.0" and shows that many settings are centralized there. That version information is useful context, but it does not prove that every Altis Life fork uses the same directory structure, variable names or whitelist implementation.
Before applying the edit to a custom or newer mission, compare these details:
- The mission’s actual cop initialization file and relative path.
- The player variable naming convention used for police slots.
- The names of the cop and admin level constants.
- The end-mission or rejection path used for unapproved players.
- The framework revision recorded in the mission’s configuration.
If your fork uses a different function, changing core/fn_initCop.sqf may do nothing or may conflict with another permission check. Adapt the same principle—remove real public slot names from the bypass list—only after locating the equivalent conditional in the active build.

What this fix changes—and what it does not
It changes
- The four documented public exceptions no longer match ordinary cop slot names.
- Players without a cop or admin level are sent through the existing whitelist rejection path when they try to initialize as police.
- The server enforces the level checks for those former public positions.
It does not change
- Cop ranks, pay, equipment, licenses or in-game duties.
- Database records that assign cop or admin levels.
- Other mission files that may grant or deny police access.
- Any separate whitelist, slot-count or community application process.
- The framework’s general configuration outside this conditional.
Consequently, closing the open slots is only effective if no other script later grants an unapproved player the cop role. If players remain able to join after this edit, inspect the rest of the initialization and slot-assignment flow in your fork rather than repeatedly changing the exception list.
Quick Recap
Practical checklist
- Back up the original mission file.
- Confirm the active mission selected by the server.
- Open
core/fn_initCop.sqf. - Locate the list containing
cop_1,cop_2,cop_3andcop_4. - Replace those names with an identifier no player can use, such as
cop_9999. - Leave the coplevel/adminlevel test and
NotWhitelistedcall intact. - Save as plain SQF text in the same path.
- Restart the server.
- Test both an unapproved account and an approved cop or admin account.
