To permanently remove one Rocket plugin, stop the Unturned server, delete that plugin’s DLL from Rocket/Plugins (or run rocket remove <plugin-name> when Rocket’s management command applies), then restart and check the startup output. Removing the DLL disables that plugin; it does not remove Rocket itself.
Playing with friends? Godlike.Host runs hosted Unturned servers from 10 data-center locations, with free DDoS protection.
If you want to remove the Rocket/LDM framework, that is a different operation: delete the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder only after backing up the server and confirming that you intend to disable every Rocket plugin.

“Rocket plugin” and “Rocket” are not the same removal target. An individual plugin is normally a DLL loaded by Rocket from the server’s Rocket/Plugins directory. Rocket/LDM is the server module that provides the runtime for those plugins and is stored under Unturned/Modules. Removing one DLL affects one feature; removing the Rocket module affects the entire Rocket layer.
| Target | Typical location | Scope | Permanent action |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Rocket plugin | Rocket/Plugins |
One plugin and its commands/features | Delete that plugin’s .dll, or use rocket remove <plugin-name> when applicable |
| Rocket/LDM framework | Unturned/Modules/Rocket.Unturned |
Rocket runtime and every Rocket plugin | Delete the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder |
| Running plugin session only | Loaded process state | Current server process | Run /rocket unload <plugin>; files remain on disk |
Decide the scope before opening a file manager. If the problem is a single broken, unwanted or outdated plugin, do not remove the framework folder.

Prepare the server before changing files
- Stop the server process. Do not delete, replace or move Rocket files while Unturned is running. RocketModFix’s removal instructions begin with stopping the server, and the same precaution prevents the process from retaining an in-memory copy or writing files back during shutdown.
- Confirm the selected server. On a host with multiple Unturned instances, verify the server name, instance ID or control-panel selection before opening its files. A provider may add a server-specific prefix to the standard folders.
- Back up configuration and data. Save the server configuration and the plugin’s files before deletion. If you may reinstall the plugin, archive its same-named configuration directory or files instead of deleting them immediately. A backup gives you a way to restore settings if the removal was not intended.
- Record the exact plugin name and DLL filename. The display name used in a command may differ from the filename. Use the item in
Rocket/Pluginsand the server’s startup output to avoid removing a similarly named plugin.
Choose the removal method
The right method depends on whether you need a temporary unload, a permanent one-plugin removal or a complete Rocket uninstall.
| Method | Access needed | Reversible? | Use it when | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|---|---|
/rocket unload <plugin> |
In-game command or console access | Yes, while files remain | You need to stop a plugin in the current process for testing or emergency mitigation | It does not delete the DLL or prevent loading after the next restart |
rocket remove <plugin-name> |
Rocket management command access | Only if you retain a backup | The plugin was installed through Rocket’s management tooling and the command is supported by that installation | It is not a substitute for removing files when the installation was manual |
Delete one .dll |
FTP, control-panel file manager or local server files | Only with a backup | You manually installed the plugin or need a direct file-level removal | It does not automatically erase generated configuration data |
Delete Modules/Rocket.Unturned |
FTP, control-panel file manager or local server files | Only with a complete backup | You are intentionally removing Rocket/LDM itself | It removes the runtime for all Rocket plugins, not just one |
Remove one plugin with Rocket’s management command
Rocket documents rocket remove <plugin-name> for a plugin installed through its management tooling. Use this route only when that command applies to your installation; a manually copied DLL may still require file-level removal.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Stop the server if the command is being run from an administration console that does not safely manage a live process. The file-removal phase must never occur while the server is running.
- Open the Rocket management console available for your server.
- Enter
rocket remove <plugin-name>Replace
<plugin-name>with the plugin identifier expected by your Rocket installation, not a guessed filename. - Read the command response and note whether it reports a successful removal, an unknown plugin or a plugin that was not installed through the management system.
- Open
Rocket/Pluginsafter the command completes. If the target DLL is still present, treat the installation as a manual file deployment and follow the DLL procedure below rather than assuming the plugin is gone. - Start the server and inspect the startup output for the plugin name and any load error.
Remove a manually installed plugin DLL
For a manual installation, the direct removal target is the plugin’s .dll in Rocket/Plugins. Hosted-server documentation identifies this directory and recommends deleting a broken plugin DLL, followed by a restart.
- With the server stopped, connect through FTP, a host control-panel file manager or the local server filesystem.
- Open the server root, then open
Rocket/Plugins. The exact root prefix varies by provider. A host may display a path such asServersUnturnedServerByHHRocketPlugins; the important part is that it belongs to the selected Unturned instance. - Locate the intended plugin’s
.dll. Check the filename against your backup, installation notes or the startup output so you do not remove another plugin with a similar name. - Download or copy the DLL to your backup location if you might need to restore it. Then delete the DLL from
Rocket/Plugins. - Look for a same-named configuration directory or files created by the plugin. Archive them if you may reinstall or need the settings. Delete those data files only when you deliberately want a clean reset; removing them is separate from removing the executable DLL.
- Close the file manager or FTP session, start the server and monitor the startup output.
Deleting the DLL is the permanent file-level action. A runtime unload, a control-panel disable switch or a deleted shortcut does not replace it if the file remains in the plugin directory.

Remove Rocket/LDM itself
Use this procedure only when the goal is to uninstall the Rocket framework. Unturned documentation places modules in Unturned/Modules, and RocketModFix specifically directs administrators removing old Rocket to delete the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder.
- Stop the server and make a full backup of configuration and data.
- Verify that you are in the correct Unturned server root, then open
Unturned/Modules. - Confirm that the folder is exactly
Rocket.Unturned. Do not delete unrelated modules. - Move the complete folder to an archive or delete it according to your rollback plan.
- Start the server and inspect startup output. Because Rocket is no longer present, Rocket plugins should not load; any remaining plugin-related messages must be evaluated in that context.
This operation changes the server’s runtime for every Rocket plugin. If you intended to remove only one feature, stop and restore the module backup instead of proceeding.

Hosted-server paths and access
Managed hosts generally expose the same files through FTP or a web-based file manager. Their root may not be named simply Unturned, and a provider can place several instances beneath a common Servers directory. Navigate from the control panel’s selected server rather than searching globally for the first folder named Rocket.
- FTP: connect to the credentials for the correct instance, browse to
Rocket/Plugins, download the DLL for backup, then delete it. - Control-panel file manager: select the intended server, open its files, and use the same relative path. Confirm the panel’s recycle-bin or permanent-delete behavior before committing.
- No file access: use the host’s support channel or request FTP/file-manager access. A console command can unload a plugin temporarily, but permanent removal still requires changing the stored plugin files.
After a panel operation, allow the interface to finish saving before restarting. A stale browser listing can make a deleted DLL appear to remain; refresh the directory and verify the filename on disk.

Runtime unload and reload are not uninstall commands
Rocket provides /rocket unload <plugin> to unload a running plugin and /rocket reload <plugin> to unload it and load it again. During unload, Rocket removes that plugin’s command registrations. These commands alter the current runtime state only.
Use unload when you need to stop a malfunctioning plugin without taking the whole server offline, or when testing whether a feature causes a live problem. Use reload after changing a plugin’s runtime state when you deliberately want it loaded again. For a permanent uninstall, stop the server and remove the plugin DLL; otherwise the plugin will be discovered again at the next startup.

Restart and verify the removal
Rocket discovers plugins during startup, so a restart is the point at which a file-level removal becomes observable.
- Confirm the target DLL is absent from the selected server’s
Rocket/Pluginsdirectory. - Confirm any same-named configuration data is either safely archived or intentionally deleted.
- Start the server normally and watch the console or log output from the beginning of the boot sequence.
- Check that the removed plugin is not listed as loaded and that its previous load error no longer appears.
- Test the server feature that prompted the removal. Commands supplied by that plugin should no longer be available; unrelated Rocket plugins should continue according to their own startup messages.
If you removed the framework, verify that Modules/Rocket.Unturned is absent and remember that the absence of every Rocket plugin is expected. If startup fails after a framework change, stop the server and restore the backed-up module before investigating further.

When the plugin still loads after deletion
The wrong server instance was edited
Multiple instances can have separate Rocket/Plugins folders. Recheck the server selection, instance identifier and root prefix in the host panel or FTP connection. A DLL deleted from another instance has no effect on the server you are watching.
A second copy remains
Refresh the directory and search the selected instance for another DLL representing the same plugin. Do not assume that a similarly named configuration folder is executable; the startup output should identify the file or plugin name that is being loaded.
The server was never fully restarted
An unload command changes the current process, while deleting a file changes storage. Stop the process completely, wait for the panel to show it offline, then start it again. A soft command reload is not the same verification step as a fresh startup.
Rocket itself is still present
Deleting a plugin DLL does not remove Rocket/LDM. That is normal when you intended to remove one plugin. If the goal was a framework uninstall, check the separate Modules/Rocket.Unturned location and follow the framework procedure instead.

Generated data is being mistaken for the plugin
A same-named configuration directory or file can remain after the DLL is deleted. Such data is not proof that Rocket loaded the plugin again. Archive it while diagnosing; remove it only when you intentionally want to reset the plugin’s settings.
Startup reports a related error
Read the complete startup output and identify whether the message names the removed plugin, another plugin or the Rocket module. Restore the backup if the wrong file was removed, then repeat the procedure with the exact target. Treat an unrelated load error as a separate issue rather than deleting additional files at random.
Safe rollback
If the removal was accidental, stop the server before restoring anything. Copy the archived plugin DLL back into the same Rocket/Plugins directory, restore its configuration data if you removed it, and start the server. For an accidental framework removal, restore the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder and then verify the startup output. Keep the archive until the server has completed a clean restart and the expected commands or features are available again.
Final removal checklist
- The server was stopped before DLL or module changes.
- The chosen scope was explicit: one plugin versus the Rocket/LDM framework.
- The target server root and instance were verified.
- The plugin DLL was removed from
Rocket/Plugins, or the documented management command completed successfully. - Configuration data was archived or intentionally deleted.
- The server completed a fresh restart and the startup output was checked.
- If Rocket/LDM was removed, the impact on every Rocket plugin was understood and a full backup exists.
The Bottom Line
For one plugin, stop the server and remove its DLL from Rocket/Plugins (or use rocket remove <plugin-name> when supported), preserve its data if needed, and verify after a restart. Remove Modules/Rocket.Unturned only when you intend to uninstall Rocket itself and disable all Rocket plugins.
