Use Player:StripWeapons() for the first; use Entity:Remove() for entity-level removal. For players using stock Sandbox, the built-in remover property is the documented menu-based option for eligible entities.
First, identify what you want to remove

Remove all weapons from a player
The documented API for clearing a player’s weapons is Player:StripWeapons(). Facepunch’s example calls it on a player entity: Entity(1):StripWeapons(). This is a Lua method, not a universal console command; a script must call it for the player it intends to affect.
The method removes all weapons from that player, so use it when the goal is to clear an inventory rather than remove one dropped weapon from the map.
Delete a weapon entity in Lua
For a weapon entity in the world, the general entity-removal method is Entity:Remove(). Call it on the specific entity you have identified. The entity remains until the start of the next tick, when removal takes effect.

The API documents removal for entities generally; it does not establish that every weapon entity is safe or appropriate to remove in every addon or gamemode. Addon authors should account for their weapon’s lifecycle and any addon-specific cleanup behavior rather than assuming generic removal is always the right choice.
Remove an eligible entity through stock Sandbox
For an ordinary Sandbox player, the documented menu-based route is the stock remover property. Its implementation rejects invalid targets and players, checks gamemode permission and whether the target can be targeted, removes constraints, hides the entity and disables its solidity, then removes it after a one-second delay. It is therefore a permission-checked entity workflow, not a way to delete players or a general inventory-clearing tool.

The implementation is available in Facepunch’s stock Sandbox remover property source. If the property is unavailable or does not permit the target, the gamemode, permissions, or entity eligibility may differ from the stock workflow.

The official documentation consulted does not establish a universal built-in console command for weapon deletion. Garry’s Mod Lua can register console commands with concommand.Add, and registered commands can be removed with concommand.Remove. A server addon or custom script may provide its own command, but its name and syntax depend on that server’s configuration. Check the server’s documentation or ask its administrator rather than assuming a command works everywhere.
