To recalibrate a Logitech G29, connect its power and pedals, set the platform switch correctly, then connect the wheel directly to your PC or console by USB. It should rotate fully to each side and return to center. Logitech’s support materials do not document a universal button combination that factory-resets the entire wheel; the right fix depends on whether it fails to power up, calibrate, or register inputs.
How to recalibrate the G29
- Connect the wheel’s power and pedals. Make sure the power adapter is connected and the pedal cable is plugged into the wheel base.
- Set the platform switch before connecting. Use PS3 mode for a PlayStation 3. Use PS4 mode for a PlayStation 4 or PC, as specified in Logitech’s platform setup instructions.
- Connect the USB cable directly to the system. Avoid a USB hub while troubleshooting.
- Keep hands and objects clear and watch the calibration sweep. Logitech Support says, “Once connected to your game console or PC, the wheel will rotate fully to each side and then to the center to calibrate.”
This is the G29’s documented automatic calibration behavior, not a separate hardware reset command.
If the wheel does not power up or calibrate
Check the power connection, pedal cable, and USB cable. For PlayStation, Logitech also recommends trying another wall outlet and USB port and checking the cables. See Logitech’s PlayStation power and connection troubleshooting.
If the wheel still does not respond, test it with another USB port and, if available, another supported system. Logitech recommends trying another game, console, or computer to help separate a game or configuration problem from a connection or hardware issue. Keep the wheel’s platform switch in the correct position when reconnecting.

If the wheel calibrates but steering or pedals are wrong
A successful sweep does not confirm that the game’s controls or software settings are correct. Check the game’s control options and assigned inputs. Some games may invert pedal controls, so verify the displayed pedal response and change the game setting if needed.
On PC, Logitech Gaming Software can adjust steering and pedal sensitivity. Logitech’s instructions describe 50% as the displayed default sensitivity and a configurable operating range of 40 to 900 degrees, with 900 degrees listed as the default. These are software settings, not a hardware factory reset; see Logitech’s sensitivity instructions. Software availability and compatibility can change, so check Logitech’s support downloads for your system before installing legacy software.

PC checks if the G29 is still not recognized
If the wheel connects but Windows or a game does not detect it correctly, Logitech’s PC connection guide recommends checking recognition in G HUB and testing input in the Windows controller module. Its troubleshooting also includes Registry-based wheel and pedal calibration steps, which Logitech labels as advanced. Do not edit the Registry as a routine reset; follow Logitech’s current instructions carefully or contact Logitech Support.
Is there a button combination to factory-reset the G29?
Logitech’s available support materials do not establish a universal physical-button sequence for resetting every G29 platform and symptom. The G29 quick-start guide shows L3 and R3 held for three seconds in a PlayStation 3 setup context; that instruction should not be treated as a general factory reset. If you mean resetting sensitivity or steering range, change those in the applicable PC software or game instead.

If the G29 still will not power up or calibrate after checking power, cables, USB connection, and platform mode—or if the same fault occurs across more than one system—contact Logitech Support for device-specific troubleshooting. Check the G29 product page for current platform compatibility, since it can depend on the system and game.
