The fastest way to reset a Roblox password is to use Roblox’s official Forgot Password or Username? recovery flow. Choose email recovery if you can access the email attached to the account, or use phone recovery if the phone option is available in your country. If the account has neither a usable email nor phone number, contact Roblox Support.
How to Reset Your Roblox Password in 2026
These are Roblox’s current official recovery steps, with interface wording that may vary slightly between the website, iOS, Android, country, age setting, and account configuration.

Before you start
Have at least one of these ready:
- Access to the email address currently attached to the Roblox account.
- Access to the attached phone number, where phone recovery is supported.
- Your Roblox username, particularly if one email is associated with several accounts.
- Access to a parent’s verified parental recovery email, if the child’s account was configured with one.
- Purchase receipts or other account-ownership information if you need to contact Support.
An email address used elsewhere, a device login, or a parent’s ordinary email address does not automatically mean that address is attached to the Roblox account. Roblox’s verification guidance explains how recovery email and phone details are configured.
Reset your Roblox password with email
- Open the official Roblox login page.
- Select Forgot Password or Username?
- Enter the email address associated with the account.
- Select Submit.
- Open the Roblox email and select Reset Password.
- If several accounts are listed, select the correct username.
- Enter a new password, enter it again to confirm, and select Submit.
The address must match the email stored on the Roblox account. Formatting matters: an address such as [email protected] may not match an account saved as [email protected]. Try the exact format originally used rather than casually adding or removing punctuation.

If more than one account uses the email, verify the username, avatar, profile details, or other familiar information before setting the new password. Roblox’s official instructions are available in I Forgot My Password.
Reset your Roblox password with a phone number
Phone recovery is available only in countries where Roblox exposes the phone-number option. If the Phone tab is missing, that may be a regional or account-availability limitation rather than an error.
- Open the Roblox login page.
- Select Forgot Password or Username?
- Select the Phone tab.
- Choose the correct country code.
- Enter the phone number and select Continue.
- Select Verify, then enter the six-digit code sent by SMS.
- Select Verify.
- Choose the correct account if multiple accounts appear.
- Enter and confirm a new password, then select Submit.
Depending on the feature and region, Roblox may deliver verification messages by SMS or WhatsApp. The number must be the one attached to the account, and the country code must be correct.

Forgot both your Roblox password and username?
Open Forgot Password or Username? and submit the verified email address, or use the phone tab where available. Roblox may display usernames connected to that recovery method. Once you identify the username, continue with password recovery or use it to log in.
If no email or phone number was added, check eligible Roblox purchase receipts. Some receipts may show the username used for the purchase. Without a recovery contact or useful purchase history, there is no standard self-service method to locate the account. See Roblox’s forgotten-username guidance.
What if no email or phone number is attached?
The automated password-reset tool cannot work without an associated recovery email address or phone number. The remaining option is the official Roblox Support form.

Give Support the username, the account’s original or known contact details, relevant purchase receipts, approximate account information, and a clear explanation of what happened. Support may review the ownership claim, but recovery is not guaranteed if there is not enough information to verify that you own the account.

- Wait a few minutes; delivery time is not guaranteed.
- Check Spam, Junk, Promotions, Social, and other filtered folders.
- Search the mailbox for “Roblox.”
- Confirm that you entered the exact address attached to the account.
- Try the exact original email formatting again.
- Avoid repeatedly submitting requests while the mailbox may be delayed.
- If no message arrives after confirming the details, use Roblox Support.
For 2-Step Verification email messages, Roblox also recommends adding [email protected] to your contacts and using Resend Code or Start Over when those controls appear. Do not assume that a message sent to an address used for another Roblox account belongs to the account you are trying to recover.
If the reset link or code fails
- Old or used email link: start a fresh recovery attempt and use the newest message.
- Incorrect six-digit code: request a new code and enter it carefully.
- Wrong phone: confirm the country code and the number attached to the account.
- Several accounts: select the intended username before creating the password.
- Suspicious website: stop and navigate directly to Roblox rather than entering credentials or codes on a third-party page.
Never give a password, browser cookie, reset code, 2-Step Verification code, or backup code to another person. Roblox’s account-safety guidance warns against sharing these details.

Resetting an under-13 child’s account
A parent may be able to help through a verified parental recovery email added in the child’s Roblox account settings. This address may be different from the email used for the parent’s linked Roblox account.
Parental status alone does not automatically reset any child’s account. The relevant recovery email must have been added and verified for that account. Roblox describes this distinction in its Parental Controls FAQ and verification documentation.

- Check that the account email and phone number still belong to you.
- Review whether the 2-Step Verification method or other security settings changed.
- Enable 2-Step Verification and create backup codes.
- Sign out of shared or unfamiliar devices where possible.
- Contact Roblox Support if the attacker changed account details or affected Robux, items, or other information.
If someone changed the recovery email or phone number, the automated reset may no longer work. Use the official Support route and describe the access problem in detail. Roblox does not guarantee that every unauthorized change, lost item, or lost Robux balance will be reversed.
What to do after changing the password
- Verify an email address in account settings.
- Add a phone number if the feature is supported and appropriate.
- Enable 2-Step Verification.
- Generate backup codes and store them somewhere private and secure.
- Consider adding a passkey.
- Make sure every recovery method belongs to the account owner or the properly configured parent.
- Never reuse the new password on another service.
Roblox currently says that only one 2-Step Verification method can be selected at a time, while also recommending additional recovery options. Its enhanced recovery guidance lists a phone number for users 13 and older, a passkey for all ages, and backup codes for all ages as possible backup methods. Backup codes are one-time use; generating a new set deactivates previously generated codes. See Roblox’s 2-Step Verification guide.
Choose a long, unique password. Do not reuse the old password, use part of your username, choose an obvious password such as pass123, or share it with friends or anyone promising Robux or account help. Roblox’s live reset form may change its password requirements, so do not rely on an unofficial minimum-length claim.

When 2-Step Verification blocks access
A successful password reset may still be followed by a 2-Step Verification challenge. Use the configured email, authenticator app, passkey, or saved backup code.
- Email 2SV codes expire after 15 minutes.
- If a code was entered incorrectly or is no longer valid, choose Resend Code or Start Over.
- For an authenticator app, enter the current code displayed in the app.
- Try another verification method configured on the account.
- Use a saved backup code; each backup code works only once.
- Contact Support if no usable verification method remains.
Roblox says that losing the primary 2SV method without sufficient backup methods can make recovery impossible through the normal process. Read its 2SV troubleshooting guidance for the available recovery paths.
