The original official instructions put the interaction at a statue in the Crucible Atrium and charged one Fallen Ember per point returned. Later players report a Seneschal unlock in Room 5 and a different price, so check the cost shown in your game before confirming.
How to respec
- Reach the Cerim Crucible. The original official instructions place the respec statue in the Crucible Atrium, so you must first progress far enough to access the Crucible. Moon Studios’ Patch 2 notes describe that original interaction.
- Unlock the feature. Later player reports say to find the Seneschal in Room 5 and unlock respec using Gloamseeds. A February 2026 community reply says you can repeat earlier Crucible floors to gather Gloamseeds and do not need to defeat the final boss to unlock it. Treat this as reported guidance rather than confirmed official instructions. Community discussion about respec
- Return points and reallocate. Use the respec interaction to reclaim Attribute Points, then assign the returned points to the attributes you want. In the original Patch 2 implementation, reallocating was free; the Fallen Ember charge applied to returning points.
- Check the displayed price before committing. Patch 2 specified one Fallen Ember for each Attribute Point returned. A later community post reports a rate of one Fallen Ember per ten points, but the reports do not establish which price applies to every current build. Use the amount shown on your in-game respec screen. Later community report on respec cost
Do you have to finish the Crucible?
Not according to the February 2026 community report: it says the Seneschal feature can be unlocked in Room 5 and that Gloamseeds are available by repeating earlier floors, without defeating the final boss. The original official Patch 2 notes identify the Atrium statue but do not document this later unlock route. If your game presents a different requirement, follow its current in-game instructions.

Why the cost may differ
The official Patch 2 notes document the original price: one Fallen Ember per Attribute Point returned. A later community post reports one Fallen Ember per ten points. Those accounts conflict, and the available reports do not verify the live October 2026 price. Check your character’s respec screen for the cost in your version rather than relying on either figure as a universal current rate.
What to know about upcoming system changes
Moon Studios’ September 2026 official news announced a planned class system with 24 classes, more than 280 traits, six trait slots, and six factions, with all classes planned for the December open beta. The official site also moved the 1.0 target from October 2026 to March 2027. The announcement does not say whether the current Attribute Point respec mechanic will remain in 1.0, so these instructions describe the Early Access system and may need updating after the beta or a game update.
