What’s actually slowing this PC down?

You can’t restore a clan to activity with a single button, but you can give a quiet Clash of Clans clan a better chance: confirm who controls it, secure the right permissions, make joining straightforward, contact former members, and restart with an activity the willing roster can manage. If the Leader has gone inactive, Supercell’s documented succession process—not a Support request to appoint a person of your choice—determines what happens next.
How do I revive a dead clan in Clash of Clans?
Treat revival as rebuilding a group that wants to play together, not as recovering members automatically. Start with the clan’s leadership and permissions before changing recruitment settings or launching events. Then make the clan’s expectations clear and invite people to take part voluntarily.
- Check who currently leads. Open the clan view and identify the Leader, Co-leaders, and Elders.
- Agree on a small trusted leadership team. Decide who will handle invitations, membership requests, messages, and war lineups.
- Set recruitment to fit the intended group. Review join mode, entry requirements, language, location, and labels.
- Explain what the clan is restarting as. Update the description and, if useful, publish a Clan Notice.
- Contact former members and invite interested players. Use available in-game or personal channels; do not ask anyone for account credentials.
- Choose one manageable shared activity. Ask who is willing to participate before organizing a war or other event.
- Review after the first recruitment or activity cycle. Adjust the rules and pace to match the people who actually show up.
There is no official recovery timeline or published success rate. The steps above are a practical way to organize a restart, not a guarantee that former members will return or new ones will join.
My clan leader is inactive—what can I do?
First establish whether the Leader is actually inactive. If they are still active, ask them to discuss the clan’s future; Supercell says a Leader can transfer leadership to a Co-leader. Members cannot simply appoint themselves Leader while the existing Leader remains in control.

How long before clan leadership rotates?
Supercell Support’s current guidance, accessed in 2026, says clanmates are notified after 60 days of Leader inactivity. The Leader then has a further 30 days to return and stop the rotation. If they do not return within that window, the highest-ranking, longest-serving Elder or Co-leader is promoted. These are separate periods: the succession does not happen as soon as the first 60 days pass. Supercell’s clan-leader inactivity guidance describes the process.
If you are waiting for succession, do not assume Support will choose a particular member. The documented rule determines who is promoted; it does not promise an outcome based on a request from another clanmate.
Which clan roles should I give people?
Promote for trust and judgment, not just to make the clan look active. Roles can affect membership and governance, and Supercell says it does not intervene in leadership decisions. Keep permissions limited to people who understand the clan’s expectations and will use them consistently.

| Role | Relevant powers | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Elder | Can invite or accept players and kick Members. | Choose someone dependable with a fair approach to requests and membership. |
| Co-leader | Can manage Elders, promote Co-leaders, send clan messages, and start wars, as well as handle membership. | Reserve this role for people trusted with both access and clan-wide decisions. |
| Leader | Has broader authority over promotions, demotions, and membership. | Agree on expectations with the leadership team before transferring or sharing responsibility. |
Before promoting anyone, agree who handles invitations, requests, messages, and war selection. Supercell’s Clan Roles guidance warns that it does not change leadership decisions, so a promotion can be difficult to undo through Support.
How should I set the clan’s entry rules?
Choose settings that match the kind of players you want. A clan hoping to rebuild numbers quickly may prefer fewer barriers; a clan that needs to screen applicants may want requests. Check all requirements together, since a restrictive trophy, Town Hall, or league threshold can undermine an otherwise open invitation.
| Join mode | What it does | Best fit for a restart |
|---|---|---|
| Anyone can join | Players can enter without an invitation or approval. | Lower-friction discovery when the priority is welcoming new members. |
| Invite only | Players can request to join, and clan leadership can screen requests. | A balance between being discoverable and choosing who enters. |
| Closed | Players cannot request to join, but leadership can still invite them. | A controlled rebuild based on direct invitations only. |
Also review minimum trophies, Town Hall and league requirements, language, location, and labels. Keep the clan description plain and specific: say what activity you expect, how often you plan to war, which language you use, and whether casual or returning players are welcome. Supercell’s clan settings guidance covers the available options.

How do I get people to join my Clash of Clans clan?
Combine a clear in-game presence with direct, voluntary invitations. Former members may be more likely to understand the clan’s history, while new players need a quick explanation of what they are joining.
Use a Clan Notice for discovery
Leaders and Co-leaders can post a Clan Notice. Supercell Support says it remains on the notice board for 24 hours, costs 10,000 Gold to publish, and is affected by player filters. A notice makes the clan discoverable; it does not guarantee applications. Make its message match the clan’s actual join settings and expectations. See Supercell’s Clan Notice guidance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteInvite former members without promising restoration
Reach out through channels you already have and explain what has changed, including who leads now and what participation will look like. Keep the invitation low-pressure. Supercell’s guidance says a member kicked from a clan cannot be restored retroactively; someone kicked or whose request was denied must wait 24 hours before rejoining or requesting again. Do not present Support as a way to restore a kicked member. Details are in Supercell’s guidance on offensive members.

Which activity should the clan restart with?
Choose according to the number of willing players and how much scheduled competition they want. A shared event can give members a reason to return, but the game’s requirements do not guarantee lasting participation.
| Activity | Requirements and organization | Consider it when… |
|---|---|---|
| Clan Games | Players must be Town Hall 6 or higher; the clan has 50 participant slots. | You want a shared challenge rather than immediately committing to a war lineup. |
| Regular Clan War | At least five clan members are required. A Leader or Co-leader starts the war and selects the lineup. | At least five members have said they want to participate and the leaders can organize the roster. |
These requirements come from Supercell’s current support guidance, accessed in 2026: Clan Games and Clan Wars. Ask members about availability before selecting a war lineup; an event is more useful as a restart when people have agreed to take part.
How should I judge whether the restart is working?
After one recruitment or activity cycle, look at whether the group is beginning to function, rather than expecting a particular member count or timetable. Check whether people are communicating, donating and requesting, and following the participation expectations the clan agreed on. If the roster is smaller or less available than hoped, loosen unsuitable entry filters or choose a less demanding activity. Keep the pace grounded in the players who are present, not in a promised recovery schedule.
