Riff Racer is a music-driven arcade racer that turns songs into stunt-filled tracks. You race in time with the music, scoring through jumps, drifts and rolls. The game is no longer sold on Steam, and its developer said in January 2023 that it had been taken offline; existing owners should treat it as an offline game, not a currently supported online service.
How Riff Racer works
Instead of racing on a fixed set of conventional circuits, Riff Racer builds tracks from music. The rhythm and audio shape a course designed for arcade driving, while stunts contribute to your score. Steam’s game description says players can use songs from their own music library or choose from 25 bundled tracks. Steam Community

The core loop combines racing with jumps, drifts and rolls. That makes the music more than a soundtrack: it is the source material for the ride and the timing that gives the driving its arcade feel.
Release and features

Is Riff Racer still available?
No. In an announcement dated January 9, 2023, FOAM Entertainment said it had removed Riff Racer from sale and moved it to “offline mode only.” The developer said revenue was not enough to cover server hosting and ongoing development costs, and described a possible return as a future possibility rather than a current plan. As a result, the original official online service should not be expected to work. The announcement is the developer’s January 2023 status statement; it does not establish that the game has since returned to sale or online service.

Offline play and controls
The developer’s stated offline mode is the supported post-shutdown state. Steam lists full controller support, while Razer’s listing specifically mentions XInput devices such as Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers. An XInput-compatible Xbox controller may be useful for an existing copy, but a controller does not provide access to the game or restore its online features. Steam Support Razer Game Deals
Community server workaround
A Steam Community listing points to a guide for a custom server intended for people who already own the game. This is an unofficial workaround, not a continuation of FOAM’s service. The listing confirms that a guide was posted; it does not establish that the server is currently available, safe, reliable or supported. Steam Community guides

Compatibility caveat
Steam’s support listing records Windows 7 as the minimum operating system and 300 MB of storage. Those are historical listing requirements, not a guarantee the game works on current Windows versions. Steam also says its client support changed to Windows 10 and later starting January 1, 2024, which may affect access independently of the game’s own listed requirements. Steam Support
