In AION 2, dismantling gear is called Extract. Before you use it—or sell an item—check what the item is for, whether it has a supply-request marker, and exactly what the current action preview says. Extraction consumes the item and costs Kina; a shop sale trades it for Kina. Neither action is a safe substitute for checking whether you may need the item later.
Choose what to do before clearing the Cube
Use this order for an item you are considering removing:

- Read its description and restrictions. Check whether it is equipment, is marked as bound or otherwise restricted, or appears useful for a system or future use. The available guidance does not establish a complete restriction legend or a universal list of items eligible for each action, so rely on the item and options shown in your current client.
- Look for a supply-request marker. Some marked low-quality gear may be eligible for a request turn-in, which can be more useful than extraction. The marker guidance comes from a community guide last verified September 23, 2026, and may differ by build; check the live interface and reward before acting. Community guide
- Consider storage or another use. If the item might be needed later, keep it or use an available storage option rather than treating sale, extraction, and deletion as interchangeable. Which options are available depends on the item and client.
- Compare the actual outcomes. Selling gives the displayed shop price; Extract consumes the item for the cost and rewards shown in its panel; a supply request may offer its own reward. Choose only after checking the item-specific details.
How to extract gear
A current guide describes the manual flow as opening the Cube, selecting the gear, opening the flask or beaker action in the item description, reviewing the extraction panel, and confirming. Labels or locations may vary across builds and regional clients, so follow the current interface rather than assuming every item has the same options. VGC’s AION 2 extraction guide

- Open the Extract action from the item description, if it is available.
- Read the preview. Confirm which item will be consumed, the Kina cost, and the listed rewards.
- Cancel if the cost or reward is not worthwhile, or if you are unsure you can spare the item. Confirm only when the preview matches what you intend to do.
Extraction costs Kina. A guide reports Enhance Stones and a cosmetic skin among possible rewards, but those examples are not a guaranteed or universal yield. The live preview for the selected item is the authority on its cost and listed return.

Automatic equipment extraction
NCSoft announced an automatic equipment Extract function inside the inventory Cube in its March 11, 2026 update announcement. The announcement confirms that the feature was announced; it does not document current settings or guarantee that it is available in every regional client. How to sell an item safely
Open the shop interaction and inspect the item and displayed price before confirming. Make sure the selected item is the one you intend to sell; a shop sale is not the same as extracting an item, and routine inventory-clearing sales are specifically excluded from NCSoft’s restoration policy.

Do not count on being able to reverse a mistaken sale. NCSoft’s global operation policy lists a mistaken NPC shop sale as potentially restorable once per account per year, with the proceeds recovered, but expressly says items sold to clear inventory cannot be restored. What can be recovered after a mistake?
NCSoft’s global Restoration Schedule lists mistaken extraction as potentially restorable once per account per year, subject to exceptions. It says extraction of wings and Arcana cannot be restored and does not guarantee restoration in every case. Treat recovery as a limited exception, not a safety net; verify the policy for your situation before relying on it. NCSoft’s Restoration Schedule

The practical distinction is important: extraction spends the item and Kina for the previewed return, while selling gives the displayed shop price. Both can be difficult or impossible to undo, and deletion is a separate outcome. Check the selected item and action before committing.
