Kong: Survivor Instinct has checkpoints, but the available sources do not confirm a manual-save command, autosave schedule, or complete checkpoint map. If you are deciding whether it is safe to quit, check the game’s current on-screen prompts rather than assuming that reaching a checkpoint guarantees a particular save state.
What checkpoints do
A PlayStation 5 review reports that dying sends the player back to a checkpoint. It also describes a sequence that had to be replayed from the checkpoint before it, showing that a restart point may sit before a stretch of gameplay rather than immediately before every challenge. Read the PS5 review.

How to save before quitting
The available documentation does not establish the exact save procedure: it does not confirm whether the game has manual saves, when autosaves occur, or whether reaching a checkpoint preserves progress after quitting. Look for the game’s current in-game save or quit prompts, and consult official support if you need confirmation for your platform and version. Do not rely on an assumed save interval.
Known checkpoint update
A SteamDB record for version 1.0.3, dated November 14, 2024, reports that an additional checkpoint was added on The Great Bridge and that save-corruption protection was introduced. This is a dated patch record; it does not confirm when the update reached console editions or whether later updates changed checkpoint behavior. See the version 1.0.3 patch record.
