The safest way to save Rainbow Diamonds (RDs) in ONE PIECE Bounty Rush is to choose a target first, inspect that banner’s live Scout screen, and spend only when you can accept its complete cost and conditions. There is no permanent, game-wide number of Diamonds that guarantees every character: step prices, tickets, rewards, guarantees, deadlines and Scout Point rules are campaign-specific.
Use the procedure below each time a banner appears. It is designed to prevent the most expensive mistakes—starting a banner without enough RDs to reach its displayed guarantee, assuming Scout Points carry over, or treating an old event’s terms as current.
What “saving for the right banner” actually means
Saving is not simply refusing to summon for a month. It is reserving your account’s currency for a banner that matches your priorities and has terms you understand. A banner is a good candidate only when its featured character or character type is genuinely useful or desirable to you, and when the displayed path to its guarantee fits your balance and the event’s remaining time.
The game is free to play but includes paid digital items and random-item (loot-box) mechanics, as described on the official ONE PIECE Bounty Rush site. You can plan without buying anything. If you do purchase currency, treat that as an optional way to change your balance—not as a reason to summon before you have checked the banner.
Why banner terms must be checked in the live game
Official campaigns do not use one permanent ruleset. Announcements have included event-specific tickets, step rewards, free Scouts and guarantees, while other events use different combinations. The official announcements archive repeatedly directs players to the in-game Scout screen for the active Scout’s rates, expiry and conditions: official announcements archive.
Announcements can also differ between mobile and Steam. Read the notice attached to the version you play, then verify the actual Scout screen on your account. A historical campaign may be useful as an example of how the game presents a mechanic, but it is not a promise about today’s costs or rewards.

The six checks to make before spending a single RD
- Choose the target. Name the character, role or character type you would be happy to receive. If the featured unit does not meet that priority, skipping is the simplest way to protect your balance.
- Open the live Scout screen. From the game’s Home screen, open the current Scout and read every step, rate, ticket condition, reward and date shown there. Do not rely on screenshots, old videos or a previous campaign’s numbers.
- Calculate the complete displayed path. Add the RD cost of every step required to reach the banner’s stated guarantee. Keep ticket-only steps separate: a ticket requirement is not automatically satisfied by having RDs.
- Check the guarantee’s exact trigger. Determine whether the banner guarantees a featured character, grants a ticket, awards a selection item, or merely improves rates. “Guaranteed” has meaning only in the context of the condition displayed on that Scout.
- Read the deadline and Scout Point rule. Note the Scout’s expiry date and whether points reset at expiry. Official notices warn that Scout Points reset after the expiry date; do not assume points transfer to another event.
- Compare the commitment with your balance and time. If you cannot reach the displayed target before the deadline without taking a risk you would regret, wait. Starting a track you cannot finish can leave you with neither the guarantee nor enough currency for the next priority.
How to work out how many Rainbow Diamonds you need
The only reliable “guarantee price” is the total shown on the specific banner you are viewing. There is no established universal cost, monthly saving rate or expected free-Diamond schedule that applies to every campaign.
Use the banner’s own step sequence
Write down each step in order and its RD cost. Include repeat cycles if the Scout requires more than one lap, and include any step that must be completed before a ticket or guaranteed reward becomes available. If a step is free, record it as free; if it uses a separate ticket, record the ticket requirement instead of converting it into an RD estimate.

Compare the total with a conservative balance
Use your current RD balance, not a hoped-for future balance, as the starting point. You may separately list confirmed rewards already available to claim, but do not count an unspecified future income rate. If reaching the guarantee requires more than you can secure before expiry, the banner is not a guaranteed plan for you—even if the first few steps look affordable.
Should you summon now or wait?
Use a two-stage decision: first decide whether the character is a priority, then decide whether the banner’s terms justify spending now.
Summon now when all of these are true
- The featured character or role is one you genuinely want, rather than a unit you would accept only because the banner is available.
- You have read the live rates, steps, rewards, guarantee and expiry.
- You can fund the complete displayed guarantee path, including any required tickets, without depending on an unverified income estimate.
- The Scout Point deadline does not leave you with an unfinished track you are unwilling to lose.
- Spending now will not prevent you from reaching a more important target whose banner you expect to prioritize.
Wait or skip when any of these are true
- You like the character but cannot reach the stated guarantee before the Scout expires.
- You are unsure whether the reward is a guarantee, a rate increase or a random item.
- You have not checked whether Scout Points reset.
- The banner’s featured pool does not match your roster plan.
- You are considering a summon only because you fear missing out, while a higher-priority target matters more.
Waiting is not a claim that a future banner will be cheaper or that a particular character will return on a known date. It simply avoids committing currency under terms you have not verified.

How to compare two banners that are live at the same time
Do not declare a winner from the headline character alone. Put both Scouts side by side and answer the same questions.

If one banner wins only because of an assumption—such as points carrying over, a guaranteed return date or a fixed monthly RD income—remove that assumption and compare again. Those figures are not stable across events.
A practical saving routine between banners
Keep a simple RD ledger
Record your current balance, the target banner, its displayed guarantee total, ticket requirements and expiry. Update the balance after every Scout, reward claim or event purchase. A written total prevents you from treating currency already committed to another banner as available.
Separate “available now” from “possible later”
Use two columns: RDs currently in your account and rewards you can claim under a clearly stated in-game condition. Leave uncertain future rewards out of the guarantee calculation. The sources do not establish a universal earning schedule, so a monthly target would create false precision.

Event terms can change while a campaign is active. Recheck the rate table, step list and expiry immediately before spending, especially if you return after a maintenance period or switch platforms. If the game displays a different event on your device, use that device’s terms.
Claim time-limited rewards promptly
Some event rewards and store deliveries go to the Gift Box and may expire if left unclaimed. Check the reward’s own deadline rather than assuming it remains indefinitely. This matters for tickets as well as currency.

Rainbow Diamonds, tickets and store deliveries
Rainbow Diamonds and scout tickets are digital in-game goods. The Bandai Namco Entertainment Web Store states that purchased Diamonds are added to the in-game total when you next open the game to the Home screen. Store listings can also place items in the Gift Box, where an unclaimed reward may expire, and describe purchases as digital licenses with cancellation limitations.
Store offers have their own regional availability, monthly limits and deadlines. Do not treat a displayed offer, price or quantity as a permanent global rule. Verify the current listing for your region and the in-game balance after delivery. Buying is optional; the saving method works by deciding how to use the currency you already have.

A failed connection should not become a reason to summon repeatedly. Stop and confirm whether the game recorded the Scout, changed your RD balance or delivered an item. Capture the time and any error message, then consult the official support FAQ for crashes during a summon and follow its account-specific instructions. Avoid launching another Scout until the result is clear.

Common saving mistakes and their fixes
Using an old guarantee number
Why it fails: campaigns change their steps, tickets and rewards.
Fix: calculate from the live Scout screen every time.
Assuming Scout Points carry over
Why it fails: official notices warn that points reset after the expiry date.
Fix: treat the current event’s points as expiring unless the active notice explicitly says otherwise.
Stopping after an affordable first step
Why it fails: a low entry cost does not mean the full guarantee is affordable.
Fix: total every required step before starting.

Confusing rates with a guarantee
Why it fails: a displayed probability is not a promise of receiving the target.
Fix: identify the exact step, ticket or selection condition that creates the guarantee.
Counting unclaimed or expiring rewards as permanent
Why it fails: Gift Box items and event offers can have deadlines.
Fix: claim and verify time-sensitive rewards before using them in your plan.
Spending because a banner is about to end
Why it fails: urgency does not change the banner’s probability or make an incomplete track safe.
Fix: summon only when the target and complete commitment still fit your plan.
Answers to the questions players ask most
How many Rainbow Diamonds do I need to guarantee a character?
There is no universal number established for every banner. Add the costs of the exact steps shown on the live Scout screen and include any required tickets. The result applies to that campaign only.
Do Scout Points carry over?
Do not assume they do. Official announcements warn that Scout Points reset after the Scout’s expiry date. Check the active Scout’s notice for its specific rule.

Is it better to summon now or wait for the next banner?
Summon only if the current target fits your priorities and you can complete the displayed guarantee path without compromising a more important target. Otherwise, waiting preserves your options; it does not promise that the next banner will be cheaper or better.
Can I plan around a fixed number of free RDs each month?
No stable, general monthly earning figure is established here. Use rewards that are currently shown and claimable in your game, and leave uncertain future income out of a guarantee calculation.
A repeatable rule for every future Scout
- Pick the character or role you actually want.
- Read the live Scout’s rates, steps, rewards, guarantee and expiry.
- Sum the complete RD cost and list separate ticket requirements.
- Confirm the Scout Point reset rule.
- Compare the commitment with your verified balance and remaining time.
- Spend only when you can accept both the probability and the opportunity cost; otherwise, keep saving.
This approach cannot remove random outcomes from a Scout, but it does remove avoidable surprises: an unfinished guarantee, expired points, misunderstood rewards or a balance too small for the plan you started.
