What to prepare before you start
Pro Game Guides recommends gathering the supplies before approaching the Deer so you can heal and defend it without leaving it exposed. Its suggested preparation is:
- A medkit and a bandage
- Food, such as meat, carrots, soup, or other cooked food
- A reliable weapon for dealing with hostile creatures
- A Purple Fur Tuft for the later part of the rescue
The walkthrough recommends beginning during daytime, when ambush risk is lower, and staying near the Deer while it recovers. These are recommendations from that guide, not independently tested strategies.
How to save the Deer
1. Find the injured Deer east of camp
In the walkthrough, the event begins with a cutscene showing the Deer attacked and collapsing near the campfire. From camp, head east to a clearing to find it.

2. Treat its leg and antler
Use a medkit on the injured leg and a bandage on the broken antler. The guide says both treatments are needed before the Deer enters its recovery phase.
3. Feed the Deer
Give it food such as meat, carrots, soup, or other cooked food. Pro Game Guides estimates that about 15–20 pieces of meat may complete this stage; treat that as an approximate amount, not a guaranteed requirement.

4. Protect it from attackers
Hostile creatures, including Wolves and Alpha Wolves, may attack after the feeding stage. Defeat approaching enemies and remain close enough to respond. The guide warns that if the Deer dies, the rescue must be restarted.
5. Give it the Purple Fur Tuft
Once the Deer is fully healed, interact with it and give it the Purple Fur Tuft. It will begin tracking the winged creature that injured it. Follow the Deer into the forest toward a hidden cave.

6. Finish the cave sequence
The walkthrough reports that a confrontation cutscene plays near the cave. Afterward, enter the cave and open the chest for the reported reward.
Survival tips while the Deer recovers
A community-reported beginner guide says the campfire’s light provides a safe zone at night and that shining a flashlight at the Deer briefly stuns it, giving you a chance to escape. It also advises returning to camp early when the game warns that the Deer is hungry. These tips describe general survival context and do not independently confirm the rescue event’s mechanics.
