To schedule a YouTube stream in StreamYard, create a live stream, choose your connected YouTube channel, enter the broadcast details, select Schedule for Later, set the date and time, and create it. Scheduling creates the upcoming YouTube post; for a regular StreamYard studio broadcast, you still need to enter the studio and click Go Live at showtime.
Before you schedule
- Make sure livestreaming is enabled on your YouTube channel. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. See YouTube’s livestreaming requirements.
- Connect the YouTube channel you intend to stream to StreamYard. If it is not connected yet, you can add it during setup.
- Decide on the title, description, privacy setting, start date and time, and whether you want to upload a thumbnail or schedule an announcement.
Schedule the YouTube broadcast in StreamYard
- In StreamYard, open Home and select Live Stream under Create.
- Choose your YouTube channel as the destination. If it is not listed, select Add a destination and connect it.
- Enter the stream title and description, then choose the appropriate privacy setting.
- Select Schedule for Later, choose the date and time, and create the live stream. StreamYard’s YouTube-specific instructions say to select the scheduled option before uploading a thumbnail.
- If you want a thumbnail, upload it during setup. StreamYard reports YouTube’s recommended thumbnail size as 1280 × 720 pixels; this is a recommendation, not a requirement for scheduling.
- Optionally select Schedule an announcement to make a channel post promoting the upcoming stream.
Find and share the scheduled watch page
In StreamYard, open the three-dot menu beside the upcoming broadcast and select View on YouTube. You can share that watch-page link with viewers. The event may also appear in the channel’s Live tab and in subscribers’ feeds as upcoming. Viewers can select Notify me on YouTube to receive a reminder when the stream is about to begin.
If you do not see the event in StreamYard, check your YouTube channel’s Live tab or open YouTube Studio and go to Content > Live. YouTube’s Live Control Room also has a Manage tab for upcoming broadcasts.
Will a scheduled StreamYard studio stream start automatically?
No. Scheduling a regular live studio broadcast creates a post with its start time; it does not start the live show. At the scheduled time, enter the StreamYard studio and click Go Live. Leave enough time before the start to enter the studio and check your audio, camera, guests, and shared content.

Studio broadcast versus scheduled prerecorded video

These are separate workflows: do not assume the automatic start described for a scheduled prerecorded video also applies to a regular studio broadcast.
Multistream scheduling limits
StreamYard’s general scheduling help lists YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and StreamYard On-Air as destinations that can be scheduled in advance. It says advance scheduling is not available for X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, or a custom RTMP destination. If you plan to multistream, verify that each selected destination supports the scheduled setup you need before relying on one shared event.

Common scheduling problems
You cannot select YouTube
Confirm that the intended channel is connected as a StreamYard destination. If it is missing, use Add a destination to connect it. Also confirm that the channel meets YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility requirements.
The stream is scheduled, but nothing is live at showtime
For a regular studio broadcast, open the StreamYard studio and click Go Live. Creating the scheduled post alone does not start the broadcast.

You cannot find the scheduled event or share link
Use the three-dot menu beside the upcoming broadcast and choose View on YouTube. Alternatively, check the channel’s Live tab, YouTube Studio’s Content > Live, or the Live Control Room’s Manage tab.
Your multistream setup will not schedule
Check the support status of each destination. StreamYard’s general help identifies X, Instagram, and custom RTMP as destinations that cannot be scheduled in advance.
