You can use a spreadsheet to plan and track a series of YouTube livestreams, but YouTube Studio’s documented scheduling flow schedules broadcasts one at a time—it does not provide a native control to schedule a whole playlist as a sequence. Create each event in Studio, then organize its video in a playlist separately. If you need to create many events from spreadsheet rows, custom code can use YouTube’s Live Streaming API, but it requires authorization and maintenance.
What a spreadsheet can—and cannot—schedule
Think of the spreadsheet as your schedule and checklist, not as a built-in YouTube scheduler. YouTube Studio documents scheduling individual livestreams and managing playlists as separate workflows. Its published instructions do not describe a way to schedule an entire playlist to play as a succession of livestreams. That is a limit of the documented native workflow, not proof that no third-party or custom solution exists. YouTube’s scheduled-stream instructions and its playlist-management instructions describe the separate processes.
A playlist organizes videos; a scheduled livestream is an event. Scheduling the event does not, by itself, establish that its eventual video will be added to a playlist. Plan to verify playlist placement separately.
Build a spreadsheet that is safe to use
Use one row per broadcast. These are practical planning fields, not a YouTube-prescribed template:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Event title | The title viewers will see on the scheduled broadcast. |
| Scheduled start | Date and time, with the timezone explicit. If using the API, retain a canonical ISO 8601 datetime. |
| Description | The event description you intend to enter in Studio or send through your automation. |
| Privacy | The intended privacy status for the broadcast. |
| Playlist destination | The playlist where you intend to organize the resulting video; this is a tracking field, not proof of automatic assignment. |
| Status / event URL | Mark whether the event was created, review any error, and record the event URL when available. |
Do not put a stream key in a shared planning sheet. YouTube’s encoder guidance explains that the stream URL and stream key connect an encoder to YouTube; treat the key as sensitive operational information and keep it in the appropriate encoder or secret-storage configuration. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
Schedule each broadcast manually in YouTube Studio
- Open the live-control workflow. In YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go live, then open Manage.
- Start a scheduled event. Choose Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings from a previous one.
- Enter one spreadsheet row’s event details. Set the title, description, privacy and scheduled time in Studio. Check the date, timezone and intended visibility before saving.
- Record the result. Update that row’s status and retain the event URL if available. A scheduled stream can be promoted, shared and surfaced with viewer reminders, according to YouTube’s scheduling guidance.
- Repeat for the next row. Each broadcast is its own scheduled event; do not treat the playlist column as a command to schedule the next livestream.
Organize the videos in a playlist separately
In YouTube Studio, create or select the playlist, set its visibility and add the relevant video. If the sequence matters, arrange entries using the documented manual drag-and-drop ordering control. For a livestream, verify the resulting video is available and then add or arrange it as intended; do not assume event creation performs that playlist step. The playlist instructions cover creating, editing, adding and reordering playlist videos.

Automate spreadsheet rows only with custom API development
If you can build and maintain an authenticated integration, a program can read spreadsheet rows and call the YouTube Live Streaming API to create broadcasts. This is custom development, not a documented built-in Google Sheets scheduler.
- Validate the row before sending it. Require a title, a future scheduled start time in ISO 8601 format, and a valid privacy status. The time must fall within a reliably schedulable range.
- Authorize the integration. The API operation requires authorization. Confirm that the connected account has the necessary channel permissions and streaming eligibility before relying on automated creation.
- Create the broadcast. The
liveBroadcasts.insertoperation requiressnippet.title,snippet.scheduledStartTimeandstatus.privacyStatus. Consult the Live Streaming API reference for request details. - Check the response. Record the created broadcast identifier or the returned error in the spreadsheet. Do not mark a row successful merely because the script ran.
- Handle playlist placement as a separate operation. Broadcast insertion and playlist insertion are distinct API operations. The playlist API can be used separately, but the cited API material does not establish that creating a broadcast automatically assigns its resulting video to a playlist. Verify the video and its playlist placement.
Choose manual Studio entry when the event count is manageable or you do not want to own an integration. Choose custom automation when recurring volume justifies development and you can support authorization, validation, error handling and separate playlist organization. Neither workflow is a turnkey spreadsheet integration in the official materials cited here.

If your goal is to keep uploaded video playing as a 24/7 YouTube livestream rather than schedule separate events, StreamNeo is a different workflow: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream.
