To sell a dinosaur in Jurassic World Evolution 2, tranquilize it with the Capture Team helicopter, select Transport, choose the animal, then use the on-screen Sell Dinosaur prompt. Review the displayed proceeds and confirm the sale—or cancel to keep the dinosaur.
Steps to sell a dinosaur
- Tranquilize the dinosaur. Assign the Capture Team helicopter to tranquilize the animal you want to remove.
- Open Transport and select the animal. Choose the Transport interaction, then select the tranquilized dinosaur. Do not choose an enclosure destination if you intend to sell it.
- Use the Sell Dinosaur prompt. Press the control shown on screen. GameSkinny’s 2021 guide lists R on PC, Triangle on PlayStation, and Y on Xbox, but its page warns that it may be outdated. Follow the prompt in your game if the displayed binding differs. GameSkinny’s selling guide
- Review and confirm. The confirmation displays the expected proceeds. Confirm to sell, or cancel to keep the dinosaur. The sale cannot be undone, so check that you selected the right animal before confirming.
GameSkinny reports that dinosaurs must be sold one at a time and that the mechanic is available in Campaign, Challenge, Chaos Theory, and Sandbox. The guide was published November 16, 2021, so treat its mode and control details as guidance rather than a guarantee for every configuration.

If Sell Dinosaur is unavailable
Check whether the animal is required for the active mission or scenario. Players have reported that mission-specific dinosaurs can be restricted from sale, but this is community-reported behavior, not an exhaustive official rule for every mode. A Steam Community discussion describes this limitation.
What later updates changed
Frontier’s Update 8 notes, dated November 30, 2023, cover automated hatcheries and changes to hatchery release and Airlift behavior. Those are separate from the ordinary Transport-menu sale flow. The notes also mention a fix for a rare case where Carnotaurus could not be sold in the Malta campaign; they do not provide a replacement step-by-step selling procedure.
