Vendor availability can depend on your scenario. If you want to set a price for other players instead, use the game’s Vending Machine or Online Trading features.
Sell items to a settlement NPC
The NPC sale route is a direct shop transaction. The specific interface steps and settlement examples below come from a Steam community discussion, rather than an official item-by-item vendor guide, so treat them as practical directions and check what your current scenario offers.
- Travel to a settlement where vendors are available. The community reply names Blackfell, Deadsville, Meyers Market, Tall Grass Inn, and Greywater Camp; names and exact vendor locations may vary.
- Talk to an NPC whose dialogue includes Shop.
- Open the shop and select the Sell tab at the top of the store screen.
- Select the items the interface makes available, then confirm the sale.
If the NPC or Sell tab is missing, check your scenario. A reply in the same thread reports that Deviated Secure does not have regular settlement vendors, so the standard settlement directions may not apply there. See the Steam community discussion.
Can you sell any item, and how much will NPCs pay?
Not necessarily every inventory item is eligible: the shop interface determines which items you can select. The available sources do not establish a current universal NPC price list, vendor credit limit, or reset schedule. Check the displayed offer before confirming, and do not assume an item’s NPC sale value from a player listing.

Sell to other players instead
For player-to-player sales, use the game’s trading features rather than the NPC Sell tab. These listings let you choose a price, but they are separate systems from settlement shops; a listing price is not a guarantee that another player will buy the item.
Vending Machines and Harvesters’ Markets
In a March 7, 2025 Devs Talk, the development team described Special Vending Machines placed in designated Harvesters’ Markets. The announcement says each player is limited to one Special Vending Machine, the feature is restricted to the market zones, and the underlying Vending Machine must first be unlocked in Memetics. The named market availability covers Manibus, Evolution’s Call, and The Way of Winter. Read the official Devs Talk announcement.

Online Trading and listing prices
In its May 13, 2026 update, the development team set a maximum listing price of 9,999,999 Energy Links per item on Vending Machines and the Online Trading platform. That is a listing ceiling, not a suggested fair price or evidence of what an item will sell for. Read the official May 13, 2026 update.
An August 8, 2026 secondary guide says Online Trading can be opened from the main menu, a Vendor, or Harvester Manny; it also reports a level 10 requirement and says the feature is unavailable in RaidZones. The official announcements cited here do not verify those access details, so use the current client’s menus and scenario rules as the authority. See the secondary Online Trading guide.

|---|---|---|
| Settlement shop | NPC vendor | Use the Shop dialogue and Sell tab. Scenario availability and item eligibility can vary; the specific directions are community-reported. |
| Vending Machine | Other players | Player listings in supported trading areas; Special Vending Machines require the Memetics unlock and are restricted to designated Harvesters’ Markets. |
| Online Trading | Other players | A separate player-trading platform. The official May 2026 update states a maximum listing price of 9,999,999 Energy Links per item. |
Use an NPC shop when you want the straightforward vendor transaction and one is available in your scenario. Use a player-trading feature when you want to set a listing price; whether it sells depends on player demand.
