At Steam’s October 7, 2026 update at 9:40 p.m., Path of Exile 2 had 13,437 players online concurrently, with a Steam peak of 26,870 that day. These are Steam-only figures from that timestamp—not a live count for whenever you read this, a count of everyone who played that day, or a total across all platforms.

How many people are playing Path of Exile 2 right now?

The latest directly observed Steam snapshot available here is 13,437 concurrent players, updated October 7, 2026, at 9:40 p.m. The number changes as players log in and out. Steam’s Path of Exile 2 stats page is the place to check for a newer reading; note its displayed update time when quoting the figure.

That count measures people online through Steam at the moment of the snapshot. It does not tell you how many unique people played during the day, and it does not include a verified total for standalone PC clients, Epic, PlayStation, or Xbox.

What are the daily and all-time Steam peaks?

Measure Figure What it means
Current players 13,437 Concurrent Steam players at the October 7, 2026, 9:40 p.m. update.
Peak today 26,870 Highest concurrent Steam count shown for October 7, 2026.
All-time peak About 578,600 Approximate highest simultaneous Steam count recorded; third-party reports differ slightly.

Steam’s peak today is a daily high, not the current number. For the all-time record, Live Player Count reports 578,562, while a June 2026 GamesRadar report gives 578,569 for the early-access launch record. The seven-player difference is negligible at this scale, so about 578,600 is the clearest summary rather than implying an independently verified exact total. See the Live Player Count statistics and GamesRadar’s report on the 2026 spike.

How should you read player-count trackers?

Current count, daily peak, and average are different measures

A current count is a point-in-time reading. A daily peak is the highest concurrent count reached during that day. An average summarizes a period and should always be read with its source and time window attached.

For example, Live Player Count displayed a 44,940 average and a 131,619 peak for its last-30-days window. Those tracker figures cover a different period and refresh from the October 7 Steam snapshot, so they do not conflict with Steam’s 13,437 current reading or 26,870 daily peak. Tracker windows and refresh schedules can differ; compare like with like.

Steam figures are not an all-platform total

Steam concurrency counts players using Steam. SteamDashboard says its live counter is fetched from Steam’s official services, while its historical graph is based on its own ten-minute recordings beginning July 2, 2026; the chart’s recorded-through date was October 3, 2026. That history is a sampled record, not a complete archive. Its methodology is described at SteamDashboard’s Path of Exile 2 page.

No official combined live count across Steam, standalone PC, Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox is established here. Do not treat a Steam figure—or a third-party Steam tracker—as the game’s total population across platforms.

Why does the number rise and fall?

Player concurrency changes with the time of day and with game events. GamesRadar reported that a 421,596 Steam peak coincided with the Return of the Ancients update and a free weekend in May 2026, describing it as the highest count since the early-access launch record. That shows a sharp spike alongside an update and access event, but does not isolate how much either factor contributed.

Use the timestamp, platform, and measure whenever you compare counts: a current Steam snapshot, a daily high, a tracker’s monthly average, and an all-time record answer different questions.
