Turn on player-status or injury push notifications in your fantasy football app, choose the right team or league, and allow notifications for the app in your phone settings. The exact controls vary by platform. Treat an alert as a prompt to check the player and your lineup—not as a guarantee that an update will arrive before kickoff or lineup lock.
Set up injury alerts in your fantasy app
Start in the fantasy app’s notification settings. Some services let you choose alerts separately for each team or league, so confirm you are changing the settings for the roster you want to monitor.
ESPN Fantasy
- Open the ESPN Fantasy app and tap the gear icon.
- Open Alert Preferences and turn alerts on.
- With Fantasy Football Alerts enabled, select the fantasy team whose alerts you want to manage.
- Keep Player Status enabled for status updates. Turn off other categories you do not want.
ESPN says turning on Fantasy Alerts initially enables all options. You can adjust the categories afterward, and tapping a fantasy alert opens the matchup. See ESPN’s notification instructions.
Yahoo Fantasy on Android
- From Fantasy Home, tap your profile icon.
- Choose Edit Team Notifications.
- Select the fantasy team, then select or clear the notification types you want.
Yahoo lists injury status among the information available through push notifications. See Yahoo’s Android notification instructions.

NFL Fantasy
NFL Support documents alert controls in two places. On the website, open the chosen league’s MY TEAM tab, select Edit Settings, then Manage my team and league alerts. In the app, open the league’s More, then Team Settings and Push Notifications (or Email Notifications). The support page explains how to unsubscribe; use these paths to inspect the available alert categories rather than assuming a specific injury-alert option is present. View NFL’s team and league alert guidance.

Sleeper
Sleeper’s support guidance covers general notification controls, not a specific current path for fantasy player injury alerts. It says app-wide permissions are managed in your phone’s settings; channel-level notifications can be opened with the bell icon beside a channel. Read Sleeper’s notification overview.
Allow notifications on your phone
An alert can be enabled inside the fantasy app and still be blocked by the phone’s operating system. Check the device’s notification settings for the fantasy app and make sure notifications are allowed. The precise menu path varies by phone and operating-system version; Sleeper’s guidance also distinguishes device-level permissions from controls inside the app.

Choose alerts without creating unnecessary noise
Where an app offers category-level controls, enable player or injury status and disable unrelated alerts you do not need. ESPN, for example, says its options are initially all enabled when Fantasy Alerts are turned on, so review the list rather than leaving every category active by default.
Menu names and locations can change with app updates. If a listed option has moved, look in the app’s notification, alert-preference, or team settings and verify the current selection for the correct roster.

Use alerts as prompts, not lineup guarantees
A notification is a reason to open the app, review the latest player designation, and check your lineup before the relevant game locks. The platform guidance cited here does not promise that every injury report or status change will trigger an alert immediately—or that an alert will arrive before kickoff. Check the current lineup and status directly when timing matters.
Optional Yahoo lineup recommendations
Yahoo has described Assistant GM, a Yahoo Fantasy Plus feature that monitors projections, injury reports, and other data and may send a morning push notification when it identifies a lineup change that could improve a user’s chances. This is a separate recommendation feature, not the basic injury-status notification setting. Yahoo’s announcement does not establish its current price or availability. Read Yahoo’s Assistant GM announcement.
