To set up a Logitech G920 on Xbox One, connect the pedals to the wheel base, connect the supplied power adapter to a wall outlet, plug the wheel’s USB cable directly into the console, let the wheel calibrate, and test its D-pad on the Xbox home screen. You then configure the wheel inside a compatible racing game.
Setup does not require Logitech G HUB on Xbox One. The game must support the G920 separately; Xbox compatibility does not guarantee that every racing title supports wheels or force feedback.

First, confirm that you have a G920
The Logitech G920 is the Xbox-compatible model for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The visually similar G29 is designed for PlayStation consoles and PC. Changing cables or software will not make a G29 compatible with Xbox One.
Check the model number on the wheel, packaging, or label before troubleshooting. Logitech’s product information is available on its official G920 product page.

What is included
- G920 steering wheel
- Three-pedal unit: accelerator, brake, and clutch
- External power adapter
- User documentation
The Logitech Driving Force Shifter is optional and is not required for the wheel and pedals to work. It connects to the wheel base rather than directly to the Xbox One.
Before connecting the G920
- Close any racing game currently running.
- Place the wheel on a stable table or racing stand.
- Put the pedals on a firm, non-slippery surface.
- Leave space for the wheel to rotate fully left and right during calibration.
- Keep fingers, cables, and objects away from the wheel while it calibrates.
How to connect the Logitech G920 to Xbox One
1. Mount the wheel
Position the wheel at the front edge of the table. Press down and rotate the integrated clamp knobs to unlock them, then tighten both clamps evenly. Remove the clamp extenders if they do not fit your table thickness correctly.
For a permanent racing rig, the wheel also has mounting points for M6 × 1 bolts. A table is sufficient for basic use, but a stand or cockpit can prevent movement during braking and force-feedback effects. See the G920 user guide for the mounting layout.
2. Connect the pedals to the wheel
Plug the pedal cable into the dedicated pedal port on the underside or rear of the wheel base. Do not confuse it with the separate port for the optional shifter.
3. Connect external power
Connect the supplied power adapter to the wheel base and plug it directly into a working wall outlet. USB alone is not enough for normal operation and force feedback because the wheel’s motorized system requires external power.
4. Connect USB directly to the Xbox One
Plug the G920’s USB cable directly into an Xbox One USB port. Do not use a USB hub during initial setup. If the console does not detect the wheel, try another USB port.

- PAIRED FOR PRECISION: Take full control of the race with G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel & Pedals and Driving Force Shifter
- PRECISE CONTROL: Helical transmission gears reduce noise and vibration with anti-backlash keeping wheel and pedals tight. The six-speed “H” shifter helps you execute smooth, accurate gear transitions
- FORCE FEEDBACK: The dual motor force-feedback realistically simulates the feel of tires on a turn, understeer, oversteer, drifting and more
- PREMIUM BUILD: Look, feel and durability of a real race car wheel, pedals and shifter. Wheel cover, knob and boot are covered in high-quality, hand-stitched leather with a solid steel gear shaft and polished metal pedals
5. Allow automatic calibration
After connection, the wheel should rotate fully in both directions and return to center. This is the normal calibration cycle, not a fault. Do not interrupt it. The wheel is ready after it stops and centers itself.

Press the Xbox button on the wheel if necessary, then use its D-pad to navigate the Xbox One home screen. Press a face button or bumper to confirm that the console is receiving input.
If the D-pad works on the home screen, the basic console connection is functioning. Move on to the game before changing cables or attempting software fixes.
Configure the G920 in a racing game
Game menus differ, but the usual route is:
Game Settings → Controls, Input, or Controller → Wheel/Racing Wheel
Depending on the title, you may need to:
- Select the G920 or a wheel preset.
- Assign steering, throttle, brake, clutch, and buttons manually.
- Enable force feedback.
- Adjust feedback or vibration strength.
- Set steering sensitivity and dead zone.
- Calibrate the wheel and pedals inside the game.
Start with the game’s default wheel preset and moderate force-feedback strength. Tune sensitivity or dead zones only after steering, throttle, and braking work correctly.

Wheel support is determined by the individual game. Check whether the specific Xbox One edition supports the G920, whether force feedback is supported separately, and whether the game requires a wheel profile. Logitech maintains a G920, G29, and G923 compatibility list.

Setting up the optional Driving Force Shifter
The G920 works without the shifter. If you own one:
- Mount the shifter securely.
- Connect its cable to the optional shifter port on the G920 wheel base.
- Open a game that supports the shifter.
- Select manual transmission or an H-pattern gearbox option.
- Test each gear and reverse.
The Driving Force Shifter provides a six-speed H-pattern gearbox with push-down reverse. Shifter recognition is game-specific, so use the paddle shifters if a title does not support the external shifter. Logitech lists the accessory on its official product page.
Logitech G920 not working on Xbox One?
Try Logitech’s Xbox recovery sequence
- Disconnect the G920 USB cable from the Xbox One.
- Press and hold the LSB, View, and Xbox buttons simultaneously. LSB means the left-stick button: press the left stick inward.
- Keep holding the buttons while reconnecting the USB cable to the Xbox One.
- Release the buttons when the wheel begins calibrating.
- Wait for calibration to finish, then test the D-pad on the Xbox home screen.
See Logitech’s official recovery instructions.
Troubleshooting by symptom
No lights, calibration, or response
- Confirm that the power adapter is connected to both the wheel and wall outlet.
- Use a known-working wall outlet directly, without an intermediary power device if possible.
- Reconnect the USB cable.
- Try another Xbox USB port.
- Remove any USB hub or extension arrangement.
- Check the power, USB, pedal, and wheel cables for visible damage.
- Test the wheel on another compatible system if available.
If there is still no sign of life, the likely problem is power, a cable, the adapter, or wheel hardware—not an in-game control setting. Logitech’s Xbox power and connection troubleshooting covers these checks.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The wheel calibrates, but Xbox does not respond
Run the LSB + View + Xbox recovery sequence above, then try another USB port and fully restart the console. Calibration alone does not confirm that the Xbox is accepting input; the D-pad home-screen test does.
The Xbox home screen works, but the game does not
This usually indicates game support or configuration rather than a basic wheel failure. Check that the game supports the G920 on Xbox One, select its wheel profile, review manual mappings, and install available game updates. Test another supported racing game if possible.
Steering works but the pedals do not
- Reconnect the pedal cable at the wheel base.
- Make sure it is in the pedal port, not the shifter port.
- Restart the wheel and console.
- Check throttle and brake assignments in the game.
- Look for inverted-axis or combined-axis settings.
- Test the pedals in another supported title.
Buttons work but force feedback does not
Button input and force feedback are separate. Confirm that the power adapter is connected, the game supports G920 force feedback, force feedback is enabled, and its strength is not set to zero.

- On-wheel game controls: Take charge of wheel sensitivity, force feedback levels and simulated steering; Logitech G Hub Gaming software enable button customisation right from the controller
Logitech also documents a thermal-protection condition in which force feedback can stop while other controls continue working. Stop using the wheel, let it cool, unplug it to power it down, and reconnect it later. If the problem happens repeatedly, contact Logitech support. Do not open the wheel or bypass its protection.
Useful G920 facts
The G920 has 900 degrees of lock-to-lock rotation, a Hall-effect steering sensor, dual-motor force feedback, stainless-steel paddle shifters, and a leather-covered wheel. Logitech lists the brake as nonlinear and supplies accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals. These specifications matter less during setup than the required external power, direct USB connection, calibration, and game support.
G920 versus a controller
The G920 is most useful when you want physical steering, separate pedal control, and force feedback in supported simulators and racing games. A controller remains more convenient for arcade racers, games without wheel support, menus, and shared living-room play.
If you already own a working G920, buying a newer wheel is not required for Xbox One setup. Logitech’s newer G923 adds TRUEFORCE in supported titles, but that feature is not necessary to use the G920.
