- Check the package and charge as needed. Confirm the listed accessories are present, then use the supplied charging equipment if the headset needs charging.

How to get a clear, stable fit
Adjust the headset and strap
Position the headset so the image is centered and clear, then adjust the strap to keep it stable without making it uncomfortably tight. If the picture shifts or looks less clear when you move, reposition the headset and strap and check the view again. Faces and fit preferences differ, so there is no single strap position that works for everyone.

Try the lens-spacing positions
Quest 3S has three preset lens-spacing (IPD) positions; it does not have the continuous IPD slider Meta lists for Quest 3. Look at a simple, readable screen and try the available positions until the image appears clearest. The exact measurements and adjustment sequence are not stated in Meta’s comparison, so use the current Quest 3S instructions for the physical adjustment.

Account for glasses
The retail package includes a glasses spacer. If you wear glasses, use it according to Meta’s model-specific instructions and make sure your frames do not touch the headset lenses. Do not guess at the spacer’s installation or removal sequence; follow the official guide. Meta also lists optional prescription lenses as compatible with Quest devices, which may be an alternative for some wearers, but an insert is not required for setup.

Consider optional interface accessories only for a specific need
The standard facial interface is included. Meta also lists a Quest 3S Breathable Facial Interface as an accessory. It is an optional choice to consider if you have an identified ventilation or interface-comfort concern; the listing does not establish that it will improve fit for every face shape.

Prepare a first play session
Clear the area you intend to use, choose stationary or room-scale play as appropriate, and complete the boundary prompts. For room-scale use, Meta lists 6.5 by 6.5 feet as the minimum area. Follow the current Quest 3S Help Center guidance for the exact boundary and safety instructions; the developer comparison does not provide the detailed consumer procedure.
Meta estimates Quest 3S battery life at approximately 2.5 hours. This is a product estimate, not a promised runtime for every session. For a first session, start with an experience and duration that feel comfortable to you, and take the headset off if you feel unwell.
