Test each mapping before you go live. This setup reliably covers stream-side effects such as sounds, alerts, and visual overlays; the reviewed Tangia documentation does not establish a native connector that changes WoW characters, combat, inventory, or settings.
What this setup can—and cannot—control
Tangia sits between Twitch and your broadcast software. A viewer spends Channel Points, Twitch places the redemption in its queue, Tangia matches the reward name to a mapping, and the selected Tangia action plays through the overlay in OBS. Tangia’s documentation describes alerts, sounds, visual effects, queues, cooldowns, and other stream interactions at its Channel Points guide.

That documented workflow is different from sending a command directly to World of Warcraft. The reviewed product material does not demonstrate Tangia changing your character, casting a spell, moving your character, editing inventory, or changing game settings. For a WoW stream, present a redemption as one of these instead:

- An instruction or challenge that you, the streamer, choose to carry out manually.

This distinction matters during raids and Mythic+ runs: viewers should know whether they are triggering a broadcast effect or asking you to perform an action yourself.

What you need before configuring anything
- A Twitch channel with Creator Dashboard access and Channel Points enabled.
- A Tangia account connected to the Twitch channel.
- OBS Studio (or another broadcaster that supports a browser source).
- A scene in OBS where the interaction can appear without covering important WoW information.
- A short list of rewards with clear names, sensible point prices, and limits.
Tangia describes one overlay URL that can be used as a browser source. Its overlay documentation explains the browser-source workflow and a 1920×1080 canvas: Tangia Overlays. Tangia’s homepage also describes its on-stream interaction model: Tangia.
Step 1: Create the custom reward in Twitch
Twitch rewards must exist before Tangia can map them. Use the current Creator Dashboard labels:
- Open Creator Dashboard on Twitch.
- Choose Viewer Rewards, then Channel Points.
- Select Manage Rewards and choose Add a custom reward.
- Enter a recognizable reward name. Keep it short enough for the redemption list and specific enough that you will know what it requests.
- Set the Channel Point price.
- Configure the reward’s limits, such as whether it can be redeemed once per stream, once per user, or only after a cooldown.
- Save the reward and make sure it is enabled.
Tangia’s Channel Points instructions require this Twitch-first order. The exact point price is your channel decision; choose a price that reflects how disruptive or frequent the interaction should be rather than assuming every effect should cost the same.

Naming rules that prevent mismatches
Use the same recognizable reward name when you create the Tangia mapping. Tangia documents name-based matching and says matching is case-insensitive, so capitalization differences do not matter. Extra words, punctuation, or a different spelling can still make it unclear which reward you intended; copy the final Twitch wording into Tangia instead of improvising a similar label.
Step 2: Map the Twitch reward to a Tangia action
- Sign in to the Tangia dashboard.
- Open Channel Points and choose the option to add a reward mapping.
- Enter the Twitch reward name exactly as it appears in your reward list.
- Select the Tangia action that should run when the reward is redeemed. Depending on the action, this can be a sound, visual effect, alert, or another interaction available in your Tangia setup.
- Set Tangia’s cooldown, maximum queue depth, and priority for that mapping.
- Save the mapping.
Twitch limits and Tangia limits are separate controls. Twitch governs whether viewers may submit a reward and how the reward queue is handled; Tangia governs how its mapped action is scheduled and played. A low Twitch cooldown does not remove a Tangia queue, and a short Tangia cooldown does not change the point price.
Choosing cooldown, queue, and priority values
- Cooldown: Use a longer cooldown for loud sounds, full-screen effects, or anything that can obscure a boss mechanic. A short cooldown suits quiet acknowledgements.
- Maximum queue depth: Set a finite number so a burst of redemptions cannot fill the entire session. A bounded queue is particularly useful when you are in combat.
- Priority: Put urgent or short acknowledgements ahead of long animations. Avoid giving every reward the highest priority, or the setting loses its purpose.
Tangia also documents sound queues, cooldowns, blackout controls, and queue management. Use those controls to make the interaction predictable instead of allowing every redemption to interrupt an encounter.

Step 3: Connect Tangia and add its overlay to OBS
- In Tangia, connect the Twitch account you use for the stream.
- Copy the overlay URL supplied by Tangia.
- Open OBS and select the scene where the interactions should appear.
- Click Sources → + → Browser.
- Give the source a descriptive name, such as
Tangia Overlay, and paste the Tangia overlay URL into the URL field. - Set the browser source dimensions to match your scene. Tangia describes positioning the overlay on a 1920×1080 canvas; use that canvas when your base canvas is 1920×1080.
- Place the source above your game capture and below any elements that must remain visible, such as a webcam frame or raid information.
- Save the source and leave it active in the scene used for testing and live streaming.
The overlay is the visual and audio delivery point. A correct Twitch reward and Tangia mapping will not be visible on stream if the browser source is missing, hidden, assigned to another scene, or placed behind an opaque source. Tangia’s overlay reference is available at https://tangia.org/overlays.

Step 4: Test every mapping before going live
- Open the OBS scene containing the Tangia browser source.
- In Tangia, open the Channel Points mapping you want to verify.
- Use Tangia’s Test Fire control for that mapping.
- Watch the OBS preview and listen to the stream audio path. Confirm that the expected action appears, uses the intended size, and finishes at a reasonable time.
- Repeat for each reward, including the loudest sound and the longest visual effect.
- If you changed the Twitch reward name, point price, limits, or Tangia mapping after testing, test again.
Test Fire is a software preview of the mapping. It confirms that the selected Tangia action can reach the overlay; it is not evidence that Tangia has performed an in-game WoW action. Tangia documents this test workflow in its Channel Points guide.
What to check in the preview
- The correct animation, sound, or alert fires for the intended reward.
- The effect does not cover your character frame, boss timers, party frames, or combat text.
- The audio is audible without drowning out game and voice-chat audio.
- Multiple test fires behave sensibly when queued.
- The effect is still visible at the stream resolution your viewers receive.
Designing WoW-friendly rewards
Rewards should respect the difference between a broadcast effect and a manual game action. The following patterns keep the request understandable and limit disruption:

| Reward style | What the viewer triggers | Combat risk | Useful controls | Setup notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sound or visual alert | A Tangia effect in the OBS overlay | Low if brief and placed away from combat information | Cooldown, queue depth, volume, blackout window | Requires the Twitch reward, Tangia mapping, and OBS browser source |
| Viewer-selected challenge | A prompt for you to acknowledge and perform manually | Medium to high if accepted during a pull | Longer cooldown, bounded queue, streamer approval | Do not describe it as automatic WoW control |
| Voluntary in-game action reminder | A reminder to attempt an action when you decide it is safe | Variable; highest during boss mechanics | Pause or reject during combat, per-user limits | The streamer, not Tangia, performs the game action |
| Tangia Dungeon | A separate on-stream mini-game tied to a Channel Point redemption | Usually lower than an in-game demand, but still a distraction | Cooldown, queue and blackout controls | It is not a WoW gameplay integration |
Tangia describes Tangia Dungeon as a separate on-stream mini-game that can be enabled in the dashboard and made redeemable through Channel Points. It can accompany a WoW broadcast, but it does not make the mini-game a control layer for your WoW client.
Examples of clear reward wording
- “Play a short alert”: a Tangia sound or visual effect only.
- “Choose my next optional challenge”: you review the choice and decide when, or whether, to perform it.
- “Dungeon mini-game”: explicitly identifies the Tangia Dungeon interaction rather than implying a change to the WoW dungeon.
Avoid labels such as “Cast spell now” or “Change my gear automatically” unless you have a separately verified, supported integration that actually performs those actions. The reviewed Tangia product information does not establish one.

Protecting raid and Mythic+ sessions
Use a blackout window for high-attention moments
Before a boss pull, during a progression mechanic, or in a difficult Mythic+ key, pause or suppress disruptive effects. Tangia’s documented blackout controls are intended for moments when interactions should not appear. Tell viewers when the blackout starts and ends so a delayed redemption does not look like a failure.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.

Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Pause or reject Twitch requests when necessary
Twitch keeps control of its Channel Point queue. Its Channel Points Guide for Creators documents controls for pausing and rejecting requests. Twitch says rejecting a request returns the viewer’s points. Use rejection when a request cannot reasonably be honored, rather than leaving an impossible item in the queue.
Remember that Tangia cannot refund points
Tangia’s Channel Points documentation says it cannot refund Twitch Channel Points itself. If a viewer needs points returned, handle the request through Twitch’s reward controls. This is another reason to set a finite queue and use clear reward descriptions before a stream begins.
Separate Twitch limits from Tangia limits
A resilient setup uses both systems deliberately:
- Twitch: set the point price, per-user or per-stream limits, and the ability to pause or reject requests.
- Tangia: set the action’s cooldown, queue depth, priority, and any blackout behavior.
- OBS: keep the browser source in the correct scene, at the correct layer, with dimensions that match the canvas.
For example, a loud alert might have a high point price and a one-per-user Twitch limit, a long Tangia cooldown, and a queue depth of one. A quiet acknowledgement can use a lower price and a shorter cooldown. Choose values based on how often you can safely respond while playing, not merely on how entertaining the effect looks in isolation.
Troubleshooting a redemption that does not appear
The reward appears in Twitch but nothing fires in Tangia
- Compare the Twitch reward name with the Tangia mapping. Tangia’s match is case-insensitive, but spelling and extra wording still need to identify the same reward.
- Confirm the mapping is saved and enabled.
- Check that the Tangia account is connected to the same Twitch channel where the reward was created.
- Use Test Fire with OBS open. If Test Fire fails, the issue is in the mapping or overlay path rather than a viewer’s redemption.
Test Fire works, but viewers see no overlay
- Verify that the Tangia browser source is present in the live scene and not hidden.
- Move the source above opaque game or image sources in the OBS source list.
- Check the browser source URL and dimensions.
- Confirm that you are testing the same OBS scene you send to Twitch.
The action is delayed
- Look for an existing Tangia cooldown or a queue that already contains requests.
- Check the mapping’s maximum queue depth and priority.
- Review whether a blackout control is active.
- In Twitch, inspect whether the request is paused or waiting in the reward queue.
A viewer asks for points back
If you reject the Twitch request, Twitch’s documented behavior is to return the points. Tangia does not perform that refund itself, so do not promise an automatic Tangia refund.
A practical pre-stream checklist
- Create and enable each custom reward under Twitch Creator Dashboard → Viewer Rewards → Channel Points → Manage Rewards.
- Copy each final reward name into a Tangia Channel Points mapping.
- Choose a Tangia action and set its cooldown, queue depth, and priority.
- Connect Twitch in Tangia and add the overlay URL to the correct OBS scene as a browser source.
- Confirm the source is positioned on the intended canvas; Tangia documents a 1920×1080 overlay canvas.
- Run Test Fire for every mapping while that OBS scene is active.
- Check sound levels, effect duration, and visibility over the WoW capture.
- Set Twitch limits and decide when you will pause or reject requests.
- Tell viewers which rewards are stream effects, which require your manual participation, and when combat blackout rules apply.
The bottom line for WoW streamers
The dependable Tangia workflow is Twitch reward first, Tangia mapping second, OBS browser source third, and a Test Fire before broadcast. Use names that clearly describe what viewers receive, keep cooldowns and queues bounded, and use Twitch’s pause or reject controls during high-risk gameplay. Based on the documented behavior, Tangia should be presented as a stream-interaction layer for a WoW channel—not as a native mechanism for changing the WoW game state.
