You cannot use a universal built-in button to skip an entire story mission in GTA: San Andreas. In some missions, a limited Trip Skip can bypass a repeated journey after a failed attempt, but you still have to complete the mission’s objective. If you’re stuck, identify your game edition and platform first: retry and checkpoint behavior can vary.
Can you skip an entire mission in GTA: San Andreas?
No general in-game option completes a story mission for you. The title-specific guide Breaking Free: How to Skip a Mission in GTA San Andreas describes no built-in way to bypass a whole mission. A Trip Skip is narrower: it can skip some repeated travel during a later attempt, not the mission objective itself.

What Trip Skip does—and when it may help
Trip Skip is described as an option available in certain missions on a later attempt, allowing you to bypass a journey to the destination. It does not finish the objective, and it is not available in every mission. See the Trip Skip reference for the feature’s described limits. Because availability depends on the mission and attempt, don’t expect a universal prompt or rely on controls from another edition.
What to do if you’re stuck on an objective
Retry or use a checkpoint
Retrying may let you attempt the mission again, but the exact flow can depend on your version. Rockstar’s April 30, 2024 Definitive Edition update notes document fixes involving retrying missions from the last checkpoint. Those notes establish that checkpoint retry behavior has had version-specific details; they do not provide one control sequence for every mission, platform, or edition.

Follow a walkthrough for that mission
If you want to advance normally, look up the specific mission and objective rather than searching for a generic skip. The Story Missions Guide provides a mission walkthrough index. A replay or retry should not be treated as a way to award story progress without completing the objective.
Check your edition before following control instructions
The title doesn’t specify whether you’re playing the original release or The Definitive Edition, or whether you’re on PC or console. Rockstar’s PC system requirements page confirms an official PC edition, while its manuals listing includes Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Neither source establishes a single set of skip or retry controls for all versions. Check the relevant manual and in-game prompts for your edition before following platform-specific instructions.
