Build the Stables in your Hideout, find a large resource stockpile in a guarded area, then interact with it to mark it for smuggling and assign an available scout. The scout brings the resources in when the season changes; small resource bundles, by contrast, can be picked up directly.
How to send scouts to smuggle a stockpile
- Build the Stables in your Hideout. This unlocks the ability to tag stockpiles for scouts. The Study is a separate Hideout building that provides more scouts.
- Find a large resource stockpile in a guarded area. Look for the large cache, not a small bundle lying in the open world.
- Interact with the stockpile and mark it for smuggling. Assign an available scout when prompted. Ubisoft says each stockpile occupies one scout for the whole season.
- Keep playing until the season changes. The flagged stockpile is cashed in at that point for Hideout upgrades, and the scout returns and becomes available to deploy again.
Ubisoft explains that the large stockpiles are “too big to be looted by one person – even for Yasuke.” The character does not carry them away directly; the scout handles the smuggling.

How to get scouts back sooner
If a scout is still occupied and you want to deploy that scout before the season ends, Ubisoft says you can pay in-game currency at a kakurega to speed up the return. Otherwise, the scout returns when the season changes.
Which Hideout buildings matter
- Stables: unlocks tagging large stockpiles for scouts to smuggle.
- Study: gives you more scouts, increasing how many you have available for assignments.
The official guidance establishes these functions, but not current building costs, levels, stockpile yields, map icons, or the exact interaction wording and button prompt. Those details may depend on the current in-game interface, so use the stockpile interaction itself to identify the smuggling option.
