To solo the seven-star Serperior Tera Raid, players have reported using Gastro Acid to suppress Contrary, then attacking while avoiding strategies that rely on lowering Serperior’s stats. An Eelektross build using Gastro Acid is one community-reported option, not a guaranteed win. The event’s announced return ran April 3–9, 2026, and has ended; Pokémon has not announced another date.
What made the Serperior raid difficult?
The 2026 return was a seven-star black crystal raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The featured Serperior had the Mightiest Mark and Grass Tera Type. The official event notice listed the dates, but the raid move details below come from a separate raid data listing.
That listing reports a level 100 Serperior with Contrary and the moves Leaf Storm, Gastro Acid, Dragon Pulse, and Iron Tail. Its additional listed moves are Sweet Scent, Breaking Swipe, and Glare. Contrary complicates plans built around changing Serperior’s stats: a move intended to lower its stats can instead raise them. That makes ability suppression a particularly relevant approach.
Reported solo approach: suppress Contrary with Gastro Acid
A video guide recommends Gastro Acid to suppress Serperior’s ability, and a player report describes using an Eelektross build with Gastro Acid. The idea is to stop Contrary from reversing stat changes, rather than letting the ability undermine a strategy that depends on them. These are reported tactics, not independently measured or guaranteed results.

The available reports do not establish one complete, universally reliable turn-by-turn build. If adapting this approach, check the chosen Pokémon’s moves, survivability, and damage plan before starting; the raid timer leaves limited room for setup or repeated knockouts. Do not assume Gastro Acid alone is enough to win.
How to compare other reported builds
Players have also discussed other Pokémon and approaches, but community posts are anecdotal rather than a controlled comparison. Evaluate a build by the way it handles the raid, not just by its attacker:

Event access, catch limit, and availability
The official announcement scheduled the event from April 3, 2026, at 00:00 UTC through April 9, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. That window has passed. Pokémon says Serperior may appear in future events or become obtainable through other methods, but has not promised a return date.
During the event, the special Serperior could be caught once per save file. Players who had already caught it could still join the raid for rewards. The official notice also says the latest Poké Portal News was needed to encounter the event. Black Tera Raid crystals require certain postgame events to access, but players who had not completed those events could join other trainers in multiplayer. Online multiplayer required a Nintendo Switch Online membership, according to the notice.
