What the Dragon Valley Easter egg unlocks
The reward is the DICE LA Camo, a cosmetic camouflage—not a weapon or physical item. The puzzle is associated with Dragon Valley 2015, Battlefield 4’s reimagining of the Dragon Valley map from Battlefield 2. Start on an unranked Dragon Valley server
The reported route has two server phases: use an unranked Dragon Valley match to trigger and solve the lantern puzzle, then take the resulting personal code to a ranked match for the reported camo claim. The EA forum description says to activate seven hidden switches in the correct combination until enough lanterns near the H flag are lit. One reply says the keypad may appear before every lantern is illuminated, so do not assume that all lights must always be on.

Find and activate the seven switches
The Steam Community walkthrough identifies switches at the temple, pier, furnace, pagoda, tree, rock, and waterfall. Follow the guide’s map and numbering for their locations and sequence; those specifics are community instructions and are not independently documented in EA’s map announcement. The goal is to light the lanterns near the H flag and make the keypad stage available.
Enter the fixed keypad code
At the keypad, enter 83980800000. The EA forum description and community walkthrough report this fixed input as the trigger for the blinking lantern that carries your personal Morse message. This is not the personalized code used later to claim the camo.

Read and decode your own Morse message
Watch the blinking lantern and record its flashes as dots and dashes, preserving the order and pauses. Decode that signal into the personal code for your run. Another player’s code is not a substitute: the message is individualized, so copying a code from a guide or another person will not solve your puzzle.
The EA forum troubleshooting discussion identifies Morse decoding as a common stumbling block. If the later keypad rejects your code, first check that you captured the entire blink sequence and translated it accurately. The sources do not establish a particular decoder utility as required or officially supported; manual transcription is an option if you can reliably distinguish the signal’s timing.

Use the personal code in a ranked match
The community walkthrough says to join a ranked Dragon Valley match and enter the personal code at a tower keypad to claim the DICE LA Camo. An EA forum response from 2021 reported that the unlock was still obtainable then and stressed that the server needed the correct parameters. That report is not confirmation that every server currently supports the Easter egg or that the unlock works on all present-day server configurations.
If the claim step does not work
- Confirm that the first phase was done on an unranked server and that you recorded the personal message generated by your own puzzle run.
- Check the Morse transcription before assuming the code is invalid; capture and decode the blinking message again if necessary.
- Verify that the ranked server is Dragon Valley and has the parameters required for the reported claim step. The forum reports do not identify a guaranteed current server or universal configuration.
Map and platform context
Dragon Valley 2015 has eight flags, according to the Battlelog Battlefield 4 map guide, which also describes vehicle-focused gameplay. EA announced the map for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The available community walkthrough mentions a console note, but the sources do not support a detailed comparison of controls or puzzle behavior by platform.
