If you are stuck on a puzzle, cannot select anything after changing mouse buttons, or need help with a technical problem in My Friendly Neighborhood, start with the matching fix below. Puzzle walkthroughs are community-made and may spoil discoveries; the documented mouse-control reset is specifically for remapped controls, not crashes or other failures.
If you are stuck on a puzzle
Steam’s community guide index lists walkthroughs, puzzle solutions, secrets, maps or levels, achievements, gameplay basics, loot, and game modes. Choose a guide for the puzzle or area where you are stuck. These guides are created by community members, and opening a solution can reveal discoveries you might prefer to make yourself.
The Steam community hub describes the game as a survival-horror adventure involving puppets and puzzles. It also surfaces an MFN Bugs & Feedback Thread and points players toward the publisher’s Discord for bug reports and feedback. Use those channels to describe a blocker that appears to be a bug rather than a puzzle you have not solved.
If you cannot select anything after swapping mouse buttons
A player reported being unable to select anything or start the game after changing the left and right mouse buttons. On August 8, 2023, developer account pluberski advised deleting the Controls file in the game’s save-data folder or connecting a gamepad to restore default controls. The Steam discussion identifies the folder as %AppData%..LocalLowJohn SzymanskiMy Friendly Neighborhood.

- Open the folder above. On Windows, you can paste
%AppData%into File Explorer’s address bar, then navigate to..LocalLowJohn SzymanskiMy Friendly Neighborhood. - Find the file with “Controls” in its name and delete that file. This resets the saved control configuration; do not delete other save files.
- If you cannot navigate the menus to do this, connect a gamepad and use it to reset the controls to their defaults.
This reset is documented for the left/right mouse-button remapping problem. It is not an established fix for crashes, launch failures, save corruption, or unrelated input issues. The steps are based on the developer’s Steam reply in the controls discussion.
If the game crashes, will not launch, or has another technical problem
Steam’s listing names DreadXP as publisher and gives [email protected] for technical support. For a problem not covered by the control reset above, contact support rather than applying an unrelated fix. Include what happens, when it happens, and the steps that reproduce it; Steam’s listing does not document a universal remedy for crashes, launch issues, or save problems.

Steam lists these specifications for the PC version. Meeting them does not diagnose an individual computer, and the figures do not guarantee that every configuration will run without problems.

These are the game requirements shown on Steam’s store page, not a compatibility test for your particular PC. Steam separately says its client requires Windows 10 or later beginning January 1, 2024; that client requirement is distinct from the game’s listed Windows 7 64-bit minimum.
