Later in the forest, a separate fox-statue gate requires three statues to face in a particular order.
First gate: solve the lantern puzzle

At the large tree, examine the fox figures and lanterns to identify the puzzle area.

Take a torch from the brazier to the left of the tree.

Light exactly these three lanterns: the one immediately left of the tree, followed by the two immediately to the right of the locked gate behind the tree.

Return to the pedestal beneath the tree and activate the interaction that appears to open the gate.
If the pedestal interaction does not appear, check the other lanterns. Extinguish any extras so only the three required lanterns remain lit, then try the pedestal again. All Things How’s walkthrough and GamesRecon’s solution describe the same lantern arrangement.

Later gate: solve the fox statue puzzle
Farther into the forest, a second gate is controlled by three rotatable fox statues. Set their directions from left to right:

Left statue: face right.

Middle statue: face backward, away from the player.

Right statue: face left.
Once the three statues are aligned in those directions, the gate opens. Walkthroughs describe the encounter’s location differently, so use the statues and their left-to-right order to recognize this second puzzle rather than relying on a particular route landmark.
